I have a handful of friends from college, but they're mostly Facebook friends. We all scattered across the country, and except for brief periods where proximity allowed us to meet up, it's been hard to stay in touch. Especially after marriage and kids and all that bullshit.

The worst thing I remember from Empire was adding unnecessary windows to all the corridors in Cloud City. I dunno if Lucas couldn't fuck with it more because it was a Kirshner film, or because it really was that well put together, but there's not a lot of extraneous CGI nonsense or plot changes in it.

A friend at college showed off his new DVD player by showing me a few scenes from Goodfellas, and how you could skip around and pause and do all sorts of shit that was impossible with VHS. I was suitably impressed.

Yeah. Although I wouldn't go back. That was an important lesson to learn, and it helped me put my shit together and get where I am today, with the actual love of my life.

One night, I had 198 registered kills on co-op play for the first level of Doom 2. It was my finest hour. And just like William Munney, I was full of whiskey at the time of the murderin'.

I was 22 for about half of 1997!

I thoroughly enjoy watching films or television shows filled with unlikable, asshole-ish characters. I really liked Election the one time I saw it, for example. But I balk at trying to read a whole book starring the same types of people. You spend so much more time with a book than you do a sitcom (comparatively), and

<zap brannigan="">MILF you say? Color me… interested.</zap>

Change the world.

I haven't, but I did listen to her WTF? interview and gained a lot of respect. I was not being sarcastic when I characterized her as a sweetheart.

But… they all seemed so happy!

The Irish have long had a complicated relationship with Rome. You'd think that being one of the few nations in Northern Europe to remain Catholic would cut them some slack, but apparently everyone in Italy knows the Irish just did that to spite the British.

Oh man, Julia Sweeney's such a sweetheart. Now she's going to feel bad about "It's Pat." And not for the well-established reasons.

I have never been more annoyed by Joe Pesci than when he taped that photograph back together.

The hell you say!

Meh.

Yeah, somehow David reigned in his usual melodramatic instincts during that run. There were still excesses, but nothing egregious. I think the supporting cast helped - I liked the Pantheon as a group for Hulk to bounce off of - and the Gary Frank art helped too. I think having a Hulk with not just a personality beyond

Ben Grimm is the best.

When the cat comes back I lose it.

Skurge for sure.
