3D is totally appropriate. Fitzgerald's visual descriptions very much captured a sense of space and scale. Not that Luhrmann seems particularly invested in capturing the book's descriptive tone, but the technique is certainly more justifiable here than for, say, a Tolstoy adaptation.

Do it! I read it for the first time as a 25-year-old, and thought it was great. Plus, it's less than 200 pages, so even the lazy 15-year-old in all of us doesn't have to expend too much effort.

I've come to realize that a huge (perhaps even primary) factor in my enjoyment of a song is the sound quality itself. Granular hisses and vibrant rumbles sound amazing, no matter how simplistic or banal the composition.

That's what's so great about it. The inane is rendered sublime through minimal manipulation.
