@LadyTudorRose: I'm going to start any potential daughters with PP and stick with it. I got a pregnancy test done there in January (I was 99% sure I wasn't, but I was quite oversue for a period, and mostly just wanted a doctor's reassurance) for $12.
@ManicPixieNightmare: I was unplanned. My parents, who were madly in love but unmarried at the time, were 25 and 26. My mother had had an abortion at 19, but by 25 was totally fine with it—and this was nearly 30 years ago. Today. it can only have improved. (And my parents just celebrated their 29th anniversary.)
There is nothing about this picture that I do not love. Pirate zombie satan women half-naked on a beach in France? The only downside is that I'm not among them.
@Queenjulie: Plan B and possibly also medical abortions, I would say, in case it gets past that point. And really, I think that would cover the vast majority of the issues.
@velma: Is this the male equivalent of the ladies' room?
@SlayBelle: I'm in tears. Someone call Tom T0morrow.
@meruru: That was my first thought! Better not hear another word about how frigid our ladyparts get after marriage!
@Peppermint: Awesome idea—my sandals are actually Dr. Scholls. I will check out the Ann Taylor this weekend!
@Peppermint: I got a lovely, mid-thigh gray Harris Tweed coat from Salvation Army a few years back for $15. I think I have secret coat-fu, though (my college-coat was an ankle-length black cashmere, $5 at a yard sale, and was nearly in tatters before I was willing to retire it).
I have high arches and flats kill me, so my general choice over sneakers is sandals. I currently have a perfectly respectable, non-hippie-looking pair that I bought for under $40, and they are heel-free and comfy. (During the winter I opt for flat boots, or this past year had a pair of wedge clogs that were awesome.…
@shellybean: Haha, yes! I am still debating putting off wedding with Mr. Writinguy for a year so I can go volunteer on a historical replica ship that sails down the Ohio/Mississippi into the Gulf of Mexico and up the East Coast. Fortunately, he is OK with this.
@MsPipCheerio: Alas my poor, beloved Penguins...and poor Montreal.
I figure when Mr. Writinguy and I hit the point where we decide to have kids, we'll just drop the BC, let nature take its course, and whatever happens happens. We both share the feeling of "well, I think if we have a kid that would be cool, if we don't it wouldn't be the end of the world", and I have a feeling a lot…
@AndPreciousLittleofThat: I love The Doors and was angry that we don't have cable and couldn't watch that. Sigh. That doc just came out a few months ago, and was shown in limited release...and damn, didn't even hit DC which is half an hour from me. I was sad.
My cousin did her undergrad and Master's both at Miami (She's going to Columbia in the fall for doctorate work, YAY!) and often talked about how much she hated the culture there. She was in a pretty tame sorority, studied her ass off, and tried to avoid the party culture as well as the classist culture (wearing jeans…
Nice to see that Lindsey's bags are photographed with that American Apparel aesthetic in mind.
@LaComtesse: Don't know if you watch Gossip Girl, but they did a pretty hilarious little storyline about a couple who weren't at ALL supposed to be the two of them, the stars of a series of wildly popular vampire movies, who were "dating" exclusively for publicity.
@DaniFae is so into you but way too smart for you: Crap, I aged out of the primary range? Better buy more games.
@WrittenPyramids: I am not Catholic. If I were to return to Christianity someday, though, it's probably the path I would pursue. There is a LOT about the religion that I utterly love, and Catholics are open-minded in strange, interesting ways that many others aren't. It has its problems, but just about every religion…
