Geez, a movie is supposed to be escapism, and a well-done movie with good performances should lead you to suspend your disbelief. I.e., people who care about this shit are thinking too hard.

@fridaycat: I'd suggest reading this guy's journal. He's a man well-versed in feminism who read through all 4 Twilight books and broke them down chapter by chapter. A lot of it is hilarious, but he also shows the huge amounts of bad things in the books, from racism to piles and piles of anti-feminism.
