What, may I query, is the general Jez-opinion on romance novels? I don't read them much (love Victoria Holt, though) but have been asked to write something along the lines of one, and it got me started thinking about the genre as a whole for a bit. Thoughts, anyone?

@Airvault: And showing women that getting old doesn't mean being sexually dead! Woohoo!

@Alexis: So would I. She'd have a BLAST!

That looks sooo comfy.

This just continues to make me wish the government would subsidize broccoli and spinach.

@laureltreedaphne: Yeah, it doesn't bother me that much, but for that price I'd get the 8 year old some peel-off nail polish and a bike.

@MsFeasance: Scary thought: What if he already does?

@prettycool: I can't even imagine wearing a thong to exercise in.

@serreca: My doggie's of unknown ancestry, but she has the perfect corgi fox face — gotta be a good dose in there somewhere.

@like a boss: Eventually! I'm just traumatized by those centipedes since my very first apartment at 19...I was laying on the couch, watching a scary movie with the rest of the lights off, then a centipede shadow got cast on the wall in giant-size and scared me far more than the movie could have. I've kept pet rats. While I still would prefer not to tangle with a wild one, mice don't bother me in the least. The only thing that gets me are things with more than eight legs. (I only say this because we had a house centipede in the livingroom last night gaaaah)

Man. I love Jezebel, but posts like this one (e.g. "LOL men saying negative things about womens' looks LOL") seem to have a counter-effect on me some days. Brings up the many times I've had unwanted commentary on my lack of good looks...

@squeakel: I think my fiance is the first man I have ever dated who was born in the US. And he's first-generation and lived most of his younger years in his parents' home country. So weird.

@colormeroutine: Hmm, this is a good tip and will be tried here, thanks.

I remember one of my friends saying she only had boys because she'd get too jealous of having a daughter—she had had 4 boys at this point and I was her only female friend, because I didn't make moves on her boyfriend. (She was also 11 years older than me and just as likely to get carded buying alcohol as I was.)
