I have discovered and become addicted to spaghetti carbonara. Mr. Writingirl is enabling me in this. I think we've had it 4 times this week, including once for breakfast (well, it IS a good after-drinky food). And we're not tired of it. Please tell me this is OK.

@Ms Meghan is Reppin' the Triforce: Thanks for the tip—I have been looking at the new OPI, unable to justify $8 for nail polish, but still desire new springy colors. (On that note, OPI apparently has a line at Walmart called Nicole, I think? Which includes glitter with hearts in it. Which sadly is perpetually sold

@Writingirl:

@Kit Cloudkicker: Yesterday we watched cartoons and played old video games on emulators and ate discount Easter bunnies. The adulthood part is that we also drank rum. This is the POINT of adulthood.

@lookatherglasses: I read somewhere a while back that scientists found it's better to spend money on experiences than things, since memories impact you more than material objects. So therefore, science says it's OK.

@Rilo-Andy: True. It's harder when you you consider that a huge number of people listen to pop music, even if it's not primarily what they like, but given the choice between Gaga and artists like Ke$ha, most are going to pick Gaga. I never had any trouble enjoying both Britney and Smashing Pumpkins, but with someone

I don't think Gaga is trying to do what the rest of a lot of these artists are doing. I see her as giving a commentary/parody on pop music in general; her whole POINT is that she's doing what came before. But it's been taken, well, maybe not the wrong way...but the other pop starlets shouldn't feel like they have to

@FactCat: My large-footed sister went through the same thing, then finally broke down and bought Paris Hilton shoes—both decently cute and went up to her size. Unfortunately, at 11 1/2 she doesn't have many options, but she put on a brave face.

@caddiewoodlawn: That's my thought. I gave up somewhere mid seventh season, as much as I loved it. If there was a chance they could do as well as the earlier ones, or even just decently...maybe.

I'm near 30, raised with a "whatever you want to do" attitude. I'm engaged now, and last weekend had a talk with my mom about how I'm not even sure if this is what I want—I love him, no doubt, and he's great, but do I want to be "tied down"? (Later this led to similar dialogue with my fiance and I feel far better

@HeartRateRapid: That's who I thought it was first glance. And second glance. I had to really be assured of the age of the ad before I decided it wasn't her.

@RodetheTrolleywithStanwyck: I'm in the same situation. I was on BC briefly in college (ortho TriCyclin, if I recall correctly) and it took my normally docile, 3-day period to a place of hell. I really feel like I should be doing something else—we haven't ruled out kids, but certainly don't want one right now—but I'm

@la.donna.pietra: Your dad and my dad should get together and listen to records, because that was the exact thought I had upon seeing this.

Quote from the story:

@Writingirl: And, thinking about it, it covers teen pregnancy pretty well overall.

@Tippi Hedren: The quote's slightly out of context—she means it in a "welfare mom" kind of way.

I don't know which piece of news is cooler—the nuns or the Barbie. Both have made my day!
