I think a lot of people forget she was 15/16 when she wrote and recorded Pure Heroine. You grow and change a lot in those couple of years, it’s natural for that to be reflected in the themes of her music.

I replied to another person asking this question that I think she might have turned it down to avoid the shit show of the transition and now wants to slide in once most of that initial heat has died down.
