Wow, even for $160 this would be a rip-off.

First, let’s examine it: 1. The facial characteristics are bland and largely expressionless, with the exception of some over-exaggerated blush attempting to pass for it. The hair is overly thick and ugly when viewed, clumping together horribly. The eye-color gradient is

What’s truly terrible is how Quiet is such a tragic and well written character, yet blatantly sexually exploited. I’m used to Kojima sexualizing characters, but there usually seemed like a purpose.

I didn’t even care before I read this article, but reading the reason has removed most of the respect I may have otherwise had for Kojima.

It went like this: Kojima wanted a female character who was built up entirely around fanservice. So he designed a sexy near-naked chick. After that, he added some random excuses for a plot around her sexiness.

I wish Kojima just said “because I want to dress her that way.” It seems like a more honest and less eye-roll worthy reason.

The reason Quiet wears that bikini outfit is that she breathes through her skin, using photosynthesis to absorb air, water, and nutrients. She has to do this because her body is infested with parasites.

Not at all. Because at the end of the day, Kojima wanted her to be naked. He wanted her to be exposed and just because he came up with a contrived “reason” for her to be so exposed doesn’t change his motivation at all. I’m feeling fine about my words and deeds. How’s Kojima feeling about his?

Well now that I know they created a ridiculous explanation to justify themselves giving the only female combat character a ridiculous outfit I feel very silly and ashamed.
