Actually she is drawn with amazingly round eyes (a western feature), black hair isn’t just endemic to asians (please see native Americans), her skin isn’t the right color for asian either but more european. I never thought Major Kusangi was Japanese in anything but her name.

I think it’s great they hired a white actress to play a fictional Japanese character who is drawn to look like a white woman.
