I think they should have dropped Poe, and blended the two into Finn — but you are right..... he is just completely superfluous to the story.

I’m having a hard time thinking of one significant thing he’s done in these movies, outside of saving Poe. His entire mission in VIII ended up being a ginormous waste of time and literally didn’t matter.
