I thoroughly enjoyed reading that. I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying, really, but one thing to point out in regards to pedestrian deaths being associated with the increase of light truck sales over that of passenger cars is that the link you provided and the report they reference includes SUV sales in that…
My ‘15 has been my daily since new; 140 miles a day round trip. I couldn’t imagine commuting in anything less. I put ~150k on it in that time and I have several mods but nothing crazy. Catless downpipe, bigger intercooler, stage 1 tune, and open element intake. Did that stuff at around 25k. Now, due to covid, I get to…
It’s not a coincidence. It’s marketing.
I think that, for the majority of street legal Raptors, you’re right. Just a status thing. A lot of oil company guys use them to get out into the field which is what mine served its first owner doing. He added a nice Icon suspension and took great care of it, apparently. Going camping and hunting, I take mine off road…
I understand how some people can feel that way. There’s plenty of anecdotal evidence out there to give you good reason. I don’t agree.
They don’t mean the same to me. If I see a coal roller I think dumb ass redneck hillbilly. When I see the blue line decal, I only think they want to show their support for the men and women of law enforcement. Blue Lives Matter has a more redneck vibe to me.
I just learned “To have a bias toward something is to be biased in its favor.” Thanks for the lesson.
I am admittedly bias, yes. I know first responders include a lot of other agencies aside from Law Enforcement.
I agree that was his point but I didn’t think it was a necessary addition to the story. We all know the kind of idiots who roll coal.
I don’t see it that way as I have a decal on my Golf R. I’ve had several friends over the years in law enforcement and I want them, and any other officers who might notice my decal, to know that I support them. If it were an actual “blue lives matter” decal then I would absolutely agree with you.
Rolling coal is dumb, obnoxious and hazardous in many many ways. I’m glad they got fined. I don’t understand why the “thin blue line” decal mention was necessary. You could’ve just said MAGA sticker or confederate flag sticker. The picture you’re painting would’ve come through just as well without revealing your bias…
I just want to know if you have a way to see how many people clicked on the link to the un-pixelated Trojan mock up.
The obvious joke here is that since there’s no cargo room left for it to be used as an actual truck, it would serve the exact same purpose as 90% of the rest of the pickups they sell. I do admire their flex, though.
You just KNOW this means that every new Bronco will have people slapping red R decals on the grill.
It’s called ART you buffoon.
My commute, doorstep to parking garage, is 72 miles if I take the shortest route. I break my drive into three parts. The first quarter is rural, country roads. This part is fun so long as I don’t get stuck behind farm equipment or old folks. The second quarter is 4-lane interstate at 75 mph (posted) which flows really…
Name two other two-door hot hatches sold in the USA, please. The only one I can think of is the Hyundai Veloster.
See, now this is why I fly discount airlines like Spirit. No class segregation. Sure, you have to pay 50¢ to use the restroom but so what?!
A Robot-Liter? How un-American of them to use the metric system.
