Let’s take it a step further and have Smits play Gordon!
Let’s take it a step further and have Smits play Gordon!
I always forget that line, but it’s cleverer than you give it credit for. The Banner medicine isn’t magic that saved Fury’s life, it’s a depressant that slowed his heart down enough to fake his death. And, really, why wouldn’t a scientist whose transformation into a monster is caused by an increased heartrate look for…
EXACTLY. I was perfectly happy they decided to make a Black Widow solo film, and enjoyed the film well enough. But I did roll my eyes a bit hearing what an injustice it was that Natasha took so long to get a solo film. Hawkeye didn’t get one either. Is that an injustice as well?
Both Clint and Natasha are non-powered…
Clearly you don’t watch GREY’S ANATOMY.
That’s really stupid, but even if you don’t show it, have a line of dialogue or something:
I’m mostly curious why Val wants Hawkeye killed. Aiming a grief-stricken Yelena at him is a clever move, but what good is a dead Barton to Val?
Yeah, the last Natasha scene doesn’t work at all for me. “Two Weeks Later” and she’s escaped Ross because. . . reasons? And she gets the big triumphant AVENGERS theme for. . . being given the Quinjet that, I guess, we saw in INFINITY WAR? And she’s going to save the imprisoned Avengers on The Raft that. . . we saw…
Does anyone know if the decent-sounding voiceover on the trailer means Val has recovered? Is it a soundalike? Or was it recorded before the cancer took its toll?
I’d have preferred they keep T’Challa alive as a character, even if they backburner him for one film the let audience grief dissipate a bit. Boseman was fantastic in the role, but, IMO, the character of T’Challa is too important to lose due to any actor’s passing. (It’s not like they stopped making Superman films…
It seems to have been Coogler’s decision, and he has addressed this (albeit perhaps not to your satisfaction):
I loved Renee Montoya as a character, but don’t care for her in a costumed role. Leave her a cop and keep Vic Sage as The Question, please.
Yup. And really the whole last season was killer.
I tell BREAKING BAD fans who haven’t watched THE SHIELD that the last season/half-season is “Ozymandias” levels of tension over multiple episodes. Those that watched on my recommendation have not disagreed. . .
Yeah, I get that Hannah has to stay in Gilead or the show ends, but can we *at least* have a scene where June asks for Hannah’s return in addition to the 22 prisoners, and gets turned down? I drove me nuts that this wasn’t addressed. . .
I love that bit from DRUNK HISTORY, both for the “I love you, man” of it, but also as a deep cut WEST WING reference (Miranda’s a big WW fan).
Another underseen leading role for Beatty - SPRING FORWARD. Basically a two-hander between him and Liev Schreiber. Two men, four seasons, four scenes, one year. Good stuff.
I wasn’t claiming Blake isn’t an utter scumbag. Rapist and murderer, absolutely. But he wasn’t shown “gleefully killing children” - he said he did, with tearful remorse. There’s no depiction or mention of him “raping women fleeing conflict” either. The author is simply claiming things are depicted in the book that…
Yup. What I hear of Rogan comes from Youtube clips. And I’ve watched a bunch. Rogan talking comedy with Neil Brennan? CLICK. Rogan on “what’s wrong with the Clintons?” Nope.
Sticking to the comedy entertainment stuff has worked out for me. I don’t agree with or respect much of Rogan’s political POV. But he’s an…
I speed-read “Engles” as “Eagles” and was for a moment picture Glenn Frey holding forth on the proletariat controlling the means of production. . .
Especially since I’m pretty sure the official position of the AV Club (or Jezebel, certainly) is that 22-year old Monica Lewinsky was too young and impressionable to have consented to her relationship with Bill Clinton. . .
“The look of pure admiration on Clark’s face after Lois reveals her plan is a perfect celebration of her impressive investigative skills.”
