Joking aside, I keep hoping for a better ending for the STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION gang than NEMESIS. Personally, I’m hoping for a 10-hour mini on CBS All Access run by Ron Moore, but I’ll take anything at this point.

You misspelled “Richard Schiff”. ; )

To complicate things even further, by all accounts Jenkins and Geoff Johns did a significant (uncredited) rewrite.

I noticed Peter Dinklage’s name on the poster. Do we still not know who he’s playing? I’m assuming voice-acting for one of Thanos’s goons, but. . .

I tend to agree. Loved the comic, but found the film well-made but pretty dull. I thoroughly enjoyed Johnston’s second attempt at the period with THE FIRST AVENGER, though.

When writing articles on Ms. Dash, how tempting is it to not italicize “clueless” in the headline?

Both “Partyman” and “Trust” were also Prince’s second pass for songs for the film. “100 Balloons” (available on HITS/B-SIDES) was his first attempt for the parade scene. . . I used to know the name of the rejected song for the museum scene but those brain cells are not available. Maybe “Rave To The Joy Fantastic”?

Hamm said in an interview that Jack Napier was named before Nicholson was cast and was entirely a play on “jackanape” - nothing to do with the Alfred actor.

And yet Burton chose Prince himself. But he only wanted Prince songs for the parade and the museum. When the ultra-prolific purple dude wrote an album’s worth of songs, WB “urged” Burton to cram them in wherever he could.

AND he’s one of the arms dealers negotiating with Gene Hackman in SUPERMAN IV.

Nicholson was (give or take thirty pounds) a very faithful screen version of the Englehart-Rogers “laughing fish” Joker. Anyone who says he was “just playing himself” wasn’t paying attention.

And Petty spoke in the RUNNING DOWN A DREAM documentary about how he mocked the idea. “I said, ‘How can a new song be a greatest hit’? And then it turns out to be our biggest seller. . . “ (sly grin)

My parents had a strict “no-PG movies” for me when I was a little kid. Problem was, this policy continued after I was a *little* kid and was still in effect when STAR WARS came out the day before my 7th birthday. Despite having tons of the toys and comics and whatnot, and getting an assurance from my elementary school

I saw an interview somewhere where (Abrams?) said McGregor was nice enough to record something for them for that sequence, but the sound editor was then able to finesse a “Rey” out of Obi-Wan’s “Don’t be afraid” to R2 in STAR WARS, so it’s actually Alec Guiness in FORCE AWAKENS afterall.

In my opinion, this doesn’t have much to do with the general, true trend of women not being paid as much as men or Lauer being revealed as a scumbag - I’d say Matt Lauer’s salary was just a result of him staying put for so long and being the senior anchor. I’ve been watching TODAY off and on since the 80s, and I

I like the Mickey Rooney one, although my DC Comics-trained brain calls it THE SECRET ORIGIN OF SANTA CLAUS. Plus, Burgomeister Meiserburger rules!

PULP FICTION. Mayo on french fries. So good, and so bad for me.
