I’m curious when exactly South Park became the moral compass for all entertainment.

What they did was slap the name Transformers on a movie and suck up the money from the power of the brand. There’s nothing relateable about those movies. They human characters they’re centered on are awful and unlikeable and make decisions that make no sense.

So then Michael Bay is the ideal candidate to direct?

That dude is not Han Solo and they seem to be working very hard in yesterday’s TV spot and now in the full length trailer, to hide it. And it’s a shame because it might ruin what looks like it could be an otherwise very fun film.

I was coming to say the exact same thing. I think Jenkins is a great director, but this wasn’t the film to get that nomination.

Greta Gerwig on the other hand absolutely should have been nominated and a good argument can be made that she should have won. Shameful that she didn’t get that consideration.

My biggest fear with any adaptation is that they miss this point.

I love this book. It’s one of my favourite books ever. It’s probably also impossible to translate to a medium like television. And I worry that their ambition to expand it’s scope will see the core story and message lost in the muck.

I would have watched. Bad and nuts is still better than bad and boring.

Do we really need 4 Harley Quinn related movies on the go? I get the character is popular but this might be just a little over the top

I’m really very annoyed that Hollywood is suddenly once again okay with raging bigot Mel Gibson. Is he talented sure? But he’s a horrible human being who doesn’t deserve any success.

I’d be totally cool with them bringing back characters from the dead if they were, you know, interesting characters. But the mustache twirling villain with no depth? Yeah, sure, we need 4 more movies of that guy.

While I thought the first season really sputtered out in the third act, I’m glad to see this coming back for more. We need more shows like Luke Cage.
