Look, I’m not saying that Matt Gaetz being literally the only person to vote against an anti-human trafficking bill has anything to do with this, but Matt Gaetz being literally the only person to vote against an anti-human trafficking bill sure doesn’t make this whole thing any less weird, okay?

Dude, you had no problem with Dump inciting violence against Asians/Asian Americans when it served your purposes and you have none now. You would stand over your wife’s bullet riddled body and still refuse to enact any kind of sane gun control laws and every single person alive knows it.

This. Was. AWESOME. I so love their transgressions being so fully laid out.

Why would you oppose those bills? What's wrong with Joe Manchin?

“I have experienced Asian American prejudice.”

I mean, who hasn’t claimed an ex-girlfriend’s twelve year old brother as their secret son when his real father is still in the picture?

“As the husband for almost three decades of an Asian-American woman, I have noticed—and we have experienced, over the years—racial prejudice against Asian-Americans,” McConnell said, referring to his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

This is some real influencer shit- simultaneously performative and confusing!

No doubt. But perhaps child welfare as well? I don’t get it. Gaetz had a girl friend (sure Marsha) with a younger brother. The girlfriend is no more but the little brother forgot to go home? For years?

The whole thing is weird and I don’t understand why he isn’t grilled about it constantly.

Whatever do you mean? I am sure it is perfectly normal for a 38-year-old single man to claim a nineteen-year-old as his “son” (whose biological parents are still alive, close by, and very much still in the picture) that he told people was a campaign aide or whatever for years.

I struggled with whether or not to allow him to enjoy spring break at Panama City beach. I allowed him to have an abbreviated one. I did not have a good night’s rest the entire time I was there until I knew he was safe, okay, and back at school

Gaetz is a self-promoting ass who deserves to be called out for doing good deeds to get credit, not just to do good for its own sake.

Yeah, I had a friend who was around 10 years younger than me (19 at the time) and still lived with her shitty, verbally/mentally abusive and neglectful parents. I invited her to live with me and taught her basic adulting skills. I definitely took on a parental role, but we always viewed it as a big sister/little

“Our relationship as a family is defined by our love for each other, not by any paperwork.”

Chances are that (as apparently a full time student) Nestor wouldn’t have the money to pay for an international Spring Break from college.  So, if Gaetz was footing the bill, you wouldn’t necessarily phrase it as him “allowing” Nestor to go but rather agreeing to pay for Nestor to go.

I did not have a good night’s rest the entire time I was there until I knew he was safe, okay, and back at school.”

I didn’t want to say it, but yeah. This is a grown ass man who is no relation to him. I’m all for unconventional families, but not claiming him until he’s an adult is...odd. And oddly convenient.

I feel like I should point out the caption on this stupid Instagram photo (I’m not seeing it in the embedded photo; I had to click through to the post) because I read it and now I can’t stop thinking about it:

There are all sorts of different, unconventional familial relationships, and I’m not one to police them, nor one to tell people how they can or cannot define their relationships. But, since Matt Gaetz only revealed this adult, Nestor, as his son as a shield in an argument about whether Gaetz, a white man, and other
