he shows contempt for reality. That more than anything else you listed is what concerns me the most. His supporters and the GOP can fuck themselves, but when he is challenging reality and setting up the “my facts are better than your facts” bullshit, that is deeply concerning. We’ve gone past this election being a

it irritates me when people say this is a “talent” of his. It’s not a “talent”, it’s something any 8 year old sociopath can do—ignore the question, throw a mix of lies and half-truths at you, and pivot to something else you’d rather talk about it. Did I miss anything? (oh and remind the questioner that they’re a loser

We’re in a pandemic, people aren’t dropping $200 at a bar right now, people are unemployed and begging the government for $600 a week so they can not get evicted. People who wouldn’t even notice if their bank accounts were $10,000 lighter should absolutely have their wealth redistributed so everyone can have basic

You are, in fact, currently being forced to stay in your country.

If you think the wealthy actually pay 50% in income tax, you're naive.

Don’t be disingenuous.

I’m pretty sure you just described Boxer from Animal Farm on your first paragraph.

Correct, it’s his estimated net worth. Small people think small, true change thinks big. Everyone of those dollars was earned on others' backs.

Obviously Bezo’s total compensation includes equity - it’s completely disingenuous to keep stating his salary and state “that’s not how compensation works”. Of course his wealth isn’t reflective of just his salary.

They don’t....they really don’t........not even a legitimate fraction of 50%.

That’s not him being a master at anything, that’s other people not having enough of a backbone to tell that imbecile he’s wrong and how he’s wrong. It really is mind blowing that most Americans can be so non-confrontational when it matters but be absolute assholes by accident on a minute by minute basis.

Sacrifice? What sacrifice? What were talking about here is just paying a reasonable salary in comparative to their own. Jeff Bezos doesn’t make his money, his low wage workers make that money.
This has never been more clear than with the pandemic. The wealthy business owners cried and whined to get people back to work.

Yep.  Pick an artificial number that makes everyone happy.... let’s say $100 million a year in post-tax revenue generation.  Stupid high.  It really shouldn’t be even remotely controversial to suggest anything above that is just screwing everyone else because you can and they can’t stop you.

Did you get paid for this or did you stupidly defend people who don’t care about you for free?

Yes, the rich person is worse off

Yeah, Amazon’s employees wouldn’t even notice the (math math math...181B/840k) $215,476 each.

Sounds like someone needs to go take Econ 101. It impacts you in LOTS of ways. Every $1 spent on consumer spending boosts the economy an extra roughly $1.80-$1.90. Every $1 invested? Boosts the economy an extra $1, give or take a few pennies. The US economy is a consumer driven economy - if people don’t buy things,

The aggressively conservative bent in this thread reminds me of an old episode of Star Trek (that’s right, I’m going nerdy with this one) where a character says something along the lines of: ‘Ferengi don’t try to end exploitation of workers, they try to join the ruling class so that one day they can exploit others.’

Check the 1950's and tell me they pay enough taxes. Also, man, if being forced to pay is robbery, I’m being stolen from constantly. I don’t want to pay for the defense budget. It’s absurd. The military is stealing my money.
