That is your prerogative to not care and to send signal to victims that your assessment of the importance of their experience depends on the political environment in which it is made. I would just say you can vote for Biden, and want him to win without doing that though.

Yes, this comment section is astounding, and not in a good way.

It’s absolutely disgusting seeing the number of people jumping right down the Republican playbook now that it’s politically inconvenient to have morals/standards.

I’m aware of the army of women who came forward to vouch for Kavanaugh.  The only other accusation against Kavanaugh that I’m aware of was Deborah Ramirez, who claims Kavanaugh exposed himself to her, at a party, with a bunch of other people as witnesses.  Whatever you think of that allegation, it is much different

What really put up the red flag for me on all of this was the phrase “Come on man, I heard you liked me”, the first half of which conveniently sounds like some of Biden’s recent interactions with the public during this campaign and not like Joe Biden circa 1993.

I can’t imagine “lack of pattern of behavior” “not discovered during previous background checks” “victim not willing to name accuser in legal documents” were part of that playbook because all of those do not apply to his case.

But it won’t be a bad faith argument. That is the point. The next time a Republican is accused of something similar, they will say “There is no existing pattern, it can’t be verified, and the allegations seem politically convenient, and that was enough for Democrats to brush aside Tara Reade’s allegation” and they

We must be reading a different comment section if you think the message is “all women” are “to be believed.”  Because what I see is “Well, actually, here are a bunch of different reasons I am choosing not to believe Tara Reade, and I don’t care that they are copy and pasted from the Brett Kavanaugh Defense Playbook.”

Do we say “believe all women, even if there is no existing pattern, it can’t be verified, and the allegations seem politically convenient.” Do we ignore that women are complicated and can immoral have motivations?

SAY IT.

Exactly - I want to believe her and the 10 other people she seemed to tell about it at the time, her mother, brother, friend, neighbor!! - oh and isn’t it just possible that a woman can say someone makes them uncomfortable without being ready to disclose they were molested by someone - and now that the world is moving

The primary actually is not over. Biden has not secured the nomination.

Okay, but she says she told her brother, friend, and mother. The former two have corroborated it, and there is contemporary evidence of the latter discussing the allegation. And her neighbor has now come forward to say Reade talked about it decades ago. So...

How in the world does Biden having been accused of sexual assault somehow reflect poorly on Bernie Sanders supporters?

This seems to have become a popular talking point with liberals desperate to dismiss these allegations, and it is bullshit.

I want to believe Tara Reade. I really do...

Yes, numbers are important.

I hated it.

I hated this finale so goddamn much. Like, no snark, I’m genuinely happy that Segel had a great, personally fulfilling experience making this show. But that realization didn’t have to come at the expense of the show itself. I was invested in these characters, especially the (almost never seen on TV) romance story
