1) Understandable. Of the women in my life that have felt comfortable enough to disclose to me their experiences, the percentage who have been assaulted is higher than any reported average I’ve ever seen. “Not all men...” sure, whatever, but enough men to make it a serious consideration.
Even “verbal assault” doesn’t capture it, though. This is a form of psychological abuse. “Violation” might be a better term for what you’re thinking of, as it’s a violation of her person, her rights to privacy and autonomy.
