Silicon Valley seasons are only ten episodes, episodes are about a half hour long. 1.5 seasons is less than 8 hours.

Played a nice game of disc golf. Had some barbecue. Binged through 1.5 seasons of Silicon Valley, trying to get ready for the premiere (I like to have the entire series fresh in my mind before starting).

There's also something inherently right-wing about a mentally enfeebled, easily confused elderly white man as president.

With fathers like these, it's a miracle we're not assholes.

I'd go if only they would deny the existence of everything after the 2nd season.

Music: Lana Del Rey - Paradise
TV: Twin Peaks (I've seen 4 episodes and I fucking love it)
Film: Buckaroo Bonzai
Podcast: Theory for Turntables: "Private Image Ltd" (subject: Rush's Moving Pictures)

He's done well for himself as an actor, but as a person? I can't quite get over the notion that he was actually playing himself in My Own Private Idaho.

All my favorites are on this list. In my opinion, Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a real sleeper hit. It's so much fun to play with a friend.

Or his screenplay for Robert Rodgriguez's snoozefest From Dusk til Dawn.

All Over Me was my first Cole Hauser movie, and I have a hard time accepting him as a good guy.

There's kind of a bait and switch in the movie. It sets up Affleck as the sensitive good guy and Lee as the insensitive troglodyte, but you end up realizing that Affleck is really immature and that Lee is a pretty good guy (even though his frankness is kinda offensive). You could maybe root for the fact that he claims

I'm certain that if his ideas in this movie ended up being progressive or insightful, it was a total accident. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I occasionally point to films like Syriana and The Good Shepard as potentially illuminating metaphors and symbols. But that's not quite the same thing.

That would be a lot more interesting if you didn't live in Seattle.

Anybody not on it?

At the very least.

Fuck the phrase "French Brexit". That's just the laziest use of language I've ever heard.

I got an AppleTV, and it's so much better than my Amazon FireTV that I'm hesitant to even say they're in the same product category.

Back in my day, college was expensive, and if you didn't pay attention in class, it was a huge waste of money. I don't understand these kids today, with their plummeting cost of education and guaranteed jobs when they graduate.
