I would really like to be sympathetic to people with gender dysphoria -> Then be sympathetic.

“Cis-only female spaces” -> sorry this is just prejudice. I’ve read all the arguments for this and they all sounds exactly like every other institution that tried to exclude [woman/blacks/jews/gays] before they were forced to assimilate. You feeling entitled to cis-only spaces is not a whole lot different from whites…
He said he will reemerge as “her” soon. I think he’s just still in transition and taking small steps at a time. Might also be in part to keep the media circus down.
Thank you. People never seem to “let” anyone in any oppressed group identify as conservative.
This is a man who started to transition in the 80s, when this sort of thing was unheard of, and he would have been subjected to deep rejection and ridicule almost everywhere in society. That should tell you everything you need to know about how miserable he must be living as a man. It has nothing to do with…
Agreed. People were posting this on facebook like it was so amazing and it kind of made me sick. Like, maybe some behavior is so shameful it shouldn't be paraded around in a public forum as the equivalent of a "before" picture so you can earn praise for the "after".
hey the working world is hard for night owls! My brain wouldn't start until around lunch time. Lots of facebook in the morning and then late nights.
Maybe the 95% of CEOs who are male and non-teenaged, and I'm guessing disproportionally from already wealthy families, would be a better go-to example for privilege.
I find this is the crux of the issue. How to stop the issues you named. While the "love your enemies" approach is not for me, the approach is seems necessary.
That's terrible. So very sorry for that. I'm glad there were some people to help you on the bus.
I've been thinking about my response a lot and I want to put in in context. I have a biracial son who comes from me, raised in a white community, and his father, who is African and whose American community is international. So we don't really have 'African-American culture' in our household or friend group. He's…
I don't know if the author needs to feel grateful for the 'good white people' but writing a piece criticizing white people for supporting the black community is probably more harmful than helpful.
No, sorry, it is different. If you are a strong muscled person you have a greater responsibility to be careful with that strength. Maybe that's unfair, just like its unfair that men are generally stronger than woman and its hard for women to protect themselves.
It would be really really hard for Janay to seriously…
I don't think that's what's going on. I'm sure the photographers in some of those pictures are purposefully directing her to mimic adult sexuality and putting makeup on her to make her look older. Its subtle but its there and that's what people are reacting to. I doubt the child is much aware of it.
In some of the photos, there are poses and looks that are common among adult models or adult women being sexy. The poses plus the makeup show that the intent is there - not from the girl - who is nine - but from those marketing her, to give a slightly sexual nature to the photos. Some of them are normal kid-looking…
