I learned to drive stick shift on a Gen 1 trooper.  I drove it for a few years, and it’s probably the car I miss most.  It was amazing.  It felt like it weighed 10 lbs, with huge glass, and was just a blast.

i put my phone/burger down faster in the manual then the automatic. i also stay sleepier in my automatic because my brain doesn’t need to partially function to keep the vehicle running..

By giving it a manual, it becomes the very sort of car that deserves a manual.  

To be honest, the synchros seem to peter out before the friction plate. On a few of my higher mileage stick shift cars, 2nd gear synchro was mostly worn out so you got a momentary grind from it if you tried to shift too quickly.
