Price differences can be really significant, so it's well worth cross-shopping. For example, we saved about 40% on our crate at Amazon and 10% on food storage at PetSmart. Wag.com is also a good place to check, especially for some brands of food.

I'm with you too. It's not as expensive as it seems since your dog will eat less (so it last longer). Another benefit is their poop is always the right consistency for easy pick-up.
Many reports over the years (including Steven Brill's excellent piece in TIME) have provided solid evidence that these scans are over-used. Partly this is because the machines are extremely expensive and when they're not scanning they're not making money, but it's also because doctors know that nobody will ever come…
I am pro-freezing, but it can be costly. In some states it's $10 for each of the 3 bureaus to place the freeze, and $10 to temporarily lift it. So, if you have to do 2 lifts in your first year, you're out $50.
You can switch plans any time.
I've recently begun dipping my toe in this stuff and it's pretty much the ultimate life-hack. It's changed the way I do things in a way that makes me happier, more fulfilled, and better at them. Can't ask for more than that :-)
Absolutely! That same sticker also gives you the exact model number and having that on your phone or computer makes it so much easier to to do things like find the user manual online or register it for a warranty.
I'm a big fan of Subscribe & Save user. Too many items to post an entry for each, but - generally - here's the approach I would recommend:
I learned everything I needed to know about vomiting from my dog; get it over with, pause for no more than a second or two to regain composure, then move on happily like nothing happened.
I like to use a Sharpie to quickly jot the date I bought something on the packaging for things I'm freezing so that when it comes time to use it I can compare that date with the sell-by date on the package and know how long it can safely hang out in the fridge before I use it later.
That sounds a bit bleak! For comparison, there's a cost to NOT jumping at the opportunity to go try new places and things. It's always worked out great for me and everyone I know that has made these kinds of leaps is happy they did. What does it say about you if you don't grab life by the horns and take some risks?…

As an added benefit, ants don't like the smell of dryer sheets. My two favorite uses for them are putting them in travel bags (keeps them fresh while stored and when coming home with dirty laundry) and cleaning bugs off the front of cars (wet the area, rub with dryer sheet, leave a few minutes, and wash off). They're…
Use your cell phone to take a photograph of anything that you've ever doubted you remembered to do when you're several miles down the road. We have a lot of photos of our closed garage door.

What's your best trick?
I just simply say "hey, I'm sorry" and let the conversation go from there. It's not like grief is a linear process where you proceed from 10/10 to 1/10 - it's much more random and hits you at unexpected times. Even right after a funeral, sometimes people really appreciate the opportunity to relax a bit and laugh. I…
Cautionary tale: I got locked out of my house because I relied on the HomeLink feature in my car to open the garage door. Worked just great until I took the car in for service and they found a problem that made the car unsafe to drive until they could get parts the next day. The dealer helpfully provided a loaner car…
