Well, if the American athletes just didn’t attend, NBC would simply ignore the event completely and cover something else. The protest would need to be by American athletes and on-camera to actually cause any sustained dancing by NBC.

The IOC would feel really bad about this, but in their defense, the bribes were exceptionally large.

this is basically my feeling on it. Like, I don’t think Adnan should be in jail simply because his trial was so borked beyond reason. But I also understand that the family is going through absolute hell over this (and I don’t think that the podcast did a great job at providing their side of the story either)

nothin’ classier than slapping women with yer dick and shipping HGH to your wife, is there

I think Eli agrees with Drew.

Well, we already know he’s drinking piss.

I live in Michigan, where winter temps (excluding this year’s mild season) regularly dip below 0 degrees in the daytime. If I were to start my car and wait for the defroster to free my wiper blades, I’d be found in my car several weeks later, dead and frozen solid.

Oh yeah, I know it’s paint. They have repair kits for that stuff that we used to use back in the early 2000's for removing the clock multiplier lock on AMD CPUs.

“Tap it a few times until the ice cracks free”??? Have you ever had to clear two inches of solid ice off the bottom of a windshield, with a wiper blade cocooned inside it?

You’re missing the point. It has nothing to do with turning on the wipers — it’s that when you pull up the wipers to clean the ice and snow off of the lower windshield area, the rubber remains attached to the window and you pull up the arm, separating the rubber part of the blade from the rest of the blade (or ripping

I don't know where you get $5 wiper blades, at least not good ones. Cheap blades are generally around $10. I just picked up a set of 20" winter blades the other day, a relatively cheap brand, $14.99 each. And if you want the flex blades that contour to your windshield, get ready to pony up $20+ each.

The problem is, this happens at least once a month in the northern Midwest. You get some nice freezing rain, or some snow hits your warm parked car, melts, then freezes. Then you have to scrape the ice off, carefully avoiding jabbing the wipers. Then you have to carefully pull the blades up without ripping them apart.

doesn’t work that way. especially if they’re stuck from freezing rain. the defroster may unstick the blades from the glass after the car warms up, but it won’t melt the chunks of ice stuck on the wipers. and simply trying to free them so you can scrape the ice away from them might be what causes them to tear.

Heated windshield is part of the $500 cold weather package in Subaru. It also includes seat heaters (even on cloth) and I never understood why every dealer in snow country just doesn’t order every car with that package.

I do it to avoid having that bit of ice or snow chunk stuck to the wiper, so no matter how much you wipe there is always that wet streak that drives you crazy. I also don’t have to worry about gouging my wipers while scraping off ice.

Apparently neither Paul nor Doug have had the rubber part of a wiper blade torn off due to being frozen to the windshield.

I’ll be honest, I never saw this when I lived in Michigan, it was only when I moved to New Jersey when I started to see people sticking the wipers up.

I like stuffing his backpack full of bibles and air-dropping him into Pyongyang.

Calm down there, Satan.
