My mother was recently diagnosed, had surgery, and is on a 5 year treatment plan due to breast cancer. So, while your point stands, my is this, people pick things that are close to home, and as said below by Alex Jaffe, breast cancer is extremely common and needs all the positioning it can get because of it.
