Not that I believe him, but isn’t this the same line of thinking people who don’t believe victims of rape use to justify victim shaming. Is “This is not how someone reacts to something horrifying happening to them” really any different than “this is not how someone reacts to a horrifying accusation against them”?

The idea that there is a correct way to deny being a rapist (if you actually didn’t do it) is laughable. It’s as stupid as saying there is a correct way for a victim to act. If he is innocent, then he is the victim. I have no idea who is at fault, but I find this to be a perfectly acceptable denial if he is telling

Yeah, I’d say the secrecy still works because *Loki* doesn’t know what’s coming. His reaction to seeing the Hulk was priceless and then Thor getting “Puny godded” just...perfect. I loved it.

This is exactly how the people who’ve greenlit the last 6 years’ worth of DC movies think.

Great jokes are never a waste of screentime.

COUNTERPOINT: That wasn’t even the best joke in that scene (let alone the movie), so who cares if they used it as the hook to put butts in seats?

Please read the details of history. Sanders signed on to bill because of the provisions it made to protect battered spouses. He then went to the House floor to denounce all the terrible parts of the bill, including privatizing the prisons to profit off the incarcerated (which exploded the prison population). If you

IT IS A BIG DEAL JAN

So many comments admonishing others for “not watching the video, so here:

Some (most?) of the reactions on here are truly awful. Making an actor do something she isn’t comfortable doing simply because it makes her uncomfortable is despicable. It doesn’t matter that it’s what she ‘signed up for’. Hell, I’d say it doesn’t even matter that she’s a child actor.

so like, it seems the majority of the commenters here are basically saying, “It’s just a kiss, 15 year olds are weird about this all the time anyway”. And that is one thing. But like I said, the idea of someone messing with a teenage girl like that specifically to make her uncomfortable is the problem here. Like, how

Having worked for the DNC and three state parties, doing everything from managing party budget to oppo, I can say that thread is the most laughable attempt at campaign finance research I’ve ever read. That is a third grade level understanding of campaign committees.

I understand it may seem like a reach Scully... but trust me... this is where sexual abuse in Hollywood starts, with directors/producers pushing small things for their enjoyment. Is a slap on the butt a big thing? No... yet actors have recently been coming out and accusing Spacey of that. Spacey did that and more...

EXACTLY. This belongs in that conversation because how do you think the first assault happened with these individuals? Was it ... oh all of a sudden I’m in the middle of my career and I’m going to straight up abuse this person? No... it was a long lengthy process of them doing WHATEVER they wanted for their own

THANK YOU AVCLUB FOR BRINGING THIS UP. I kept making a point about this, and how while its not at the same level as any of the other sexual abuse scandals coming out, it is indeed an improper use of directoral power to force underage kids to kiss for the sheer fun of it. I’ve been called out numerous times by ignorant

Gross. There are a lot of stories of actresses being bullied into doing sexual things they aren’t comfortable with specifically because male film-makers enjoyed seeing them uncomfortable, but I think this is the first time I’ve heard of it happening to a child. Probably because most of the time people aren’t bragging

The DNC DIDN’T work for down ballet candidates though. Just ask George Clooney, who raised all that money that was supposed to help Clinton AND down ballet candidates but, instead, was all directed to Clinton.

Here’s how Hillary’s fundraising  for dem down-ballot candidates from states who participated in the DNC-HC joint deal caysed many dem losses in 2916. The definitive article, by Margot Kidder, out there since 4/2016, explains in detail how it went down.

Between 6-12% of Sanders voters voted for Trump. By comparison, 25% Hillary voters voted for McCain in 2008. That means Sanders voters were far more supportive of democrats than Hillary voters were.
