I give up on demanding any kind of consistency from the Jez editors at this point. The defense for that ridiculous headline was supposedly that they were mocking other media’s treatment of the process, but that wasn’t touched on in that piece itself, apparently we were just supposed to know that they were judging

because not Bernie

This...could pretty much be Jezebel’s new tagline. Kind of like how they keep shoving Cardi B down our throats, in spite of her being a noted transphobe. It’s totes O.K. because Jezebel has trans writers! I posted an article about Cardi B using “ch*nky” to describe her kids’ eye shapes, and I was told that it was

So we have a Black/Asian woman one step away from the Presidency (assuming they win) and this is...bad?

I’ve said it before here, and I’ll say it again. This is a hugely historic choice, and the VP pick being a black-asian woman is a big deal. VP is not Secretary of State (sorry HRC). The US has a looooong history of VPs become Ps. Fourteen (14!), many of whom D’s really like. Biden (likely, jinx), Bush I, Ford, Nixon

She (Ashley Reese) was challenged on this by a reader and her response was to essentially say that Jezebel isn’t a legitimate publication and that they can’t be sexist because some of their best friends are women.

It was The Bachelor: VP Edition, a wry acknowledgment that the sideshow flattened women who are powerful in their own right—many of whom are better and more interesting politicians than Biden—into nothing more than pawns, dissected based on whether or not they would help Biden’s election chances.

It feels like this article-- and many others-- are completely disconnected from the basic fact that Biden won the nomination decisively in large part because he was the overwhelming choice of female voters...especially female voters of color.

Shhh....MAGAbel wants to decry the sexist frames that the media imposes while perpetuating said frames. Gotta get a shot at the Dems in or they won’t be cool on Rose twitter.

How do we reconcile this attitude toward Biden’s nomination and his selection of Harris with the reality that Black women represent the voting base of the Democratic party and that their votes propelled Biden to securing the nomination?

VPs are generally not announced until right before the convention. As I check my watch, it looks to be before the convention this year as well.

God. Wear a fucking mask. This is not about your assault. It is the worst thing that could ever have happened to you. And it truly sucks. And fuck that guy/girl/human. But, you know what?  This isn’t about that. And we all have traumatic shit we are dealing with right now. Wear a mask or stay the fuck home.

It kind of invalidates anything else she says.

Imagine if somebody told you the 100% earnestly believed the Earth was flat, and then tried to give you their opinion on...anything else. You would absolutely discredit their opinion based upon their clear lack of judgment.

Im black, if you’re implying otherwise. All I’m saying is, titles like that only further divide the human race. Just post your blogs and thoughts without the vitriol

Exactly. Not inflammatory enough. It’s like Malcolm X before his “awakening” after going on the Hajj.

I was going to address a few more points but decided to simplify here. Your response already tells me you’re too hot-headed to be reasonable on the matter. However, this point I chose to keep:

You know how ridiculous Trump defenders sound when they dig in their heels against all evidence?

About time! He may be a weirdo but Amber Heard is definitely the monster in this situation.
