Yes! There is ACTUALLY an evil twin!!

There already was an SVU episode of this, except one twin didn't know the other existed.

I don't really understand the criticism here. She was asked if she chases boys. What was she supposed to say, "yes?" She dates people, it doesn't work out, she dates other people. Like all of us.

Aaand here my (supposedly enlightened, safe, superior) small liberal arts college waited until an *indictment* to let the school newspaper print an article (only saying that there had been an indictment on such-and-such charges, nothing more) and half the campus is up in arms. A lot of people think they should have

Aaaand here we go. Sigh.

I'm a huge fan of Kara Walker. We actually had some of her art last semester in the college gallery where I work/volunteer, and it was some of my favorite. Still, her art is very graphic (in terms of violence and sexual themes), despite it being black and white. It was upsetting (in a good way) for me, an adult, to

A lot of my friends have met up with people they met online, and some have even started relationships that way. It's mostly through tumblr, and the people who do it definitely are ones who have a lot of shit going on in their lives. They tend to bond about their issues (and fandoms).

Exactly. Yeah, I grew up in a pretty liberal area and go to a pretty liberal school, but all the religious young adults I know definitely care more about caring for the living than any culture war. They're by far the most active when it comes to charity and community service. My freshman year roommate personally

I haven't seen ZDT, but I do know that Bigelow put out a pretty scathing statement regarding the torture debate. She said, "depiction is not endorsement, and if it was, no artist could ever portray inhumane practices. No author could ever write about them, and no filmmaker could ever delve into the knotty subjects of

At least they're single-sole?

Aaaah, I see! Sorry, I was skimming by the end of the article. You're right, the stiletto is not at all the perfect proportion for many women!

Wow. I thought she was born over the summer. Clearly I have no conception of time anymore.

There's a difference between a thicker heel and a platform, though. A true platform is thick throughout the entire sole. I love sturdy heels, but true platforms do have a tendency to make people's legs look shorter and wider.

I actually have never heard of these... do you have a link to any more in depth reading about it? I can always google of course, just wondering if you had any specific reading in mind.

I have some friends who took a class on Tolkien this semester, and when discussions of race/gender came up, things got *bad*. To quote: "Tolkien didn't want to write about sex, and if he included female characters, he would have had to!" "Why don't dwarves and elves count as racial diversity?!?" and, unfortunately,

Nope nope! But I'm super happy it's spreading!

To me, white lights are calming and soothing, like snow on Christmas. Colored lights are fun and loud and crazy. It just depends on what you like. I prefer the Christmas tree to be calm and elegant, but I'm also that weird young person who prefers old carols (the older the better) to modern Christmas music. If

Yeah, they've been spreading around! It's fantastic.

Nnnnope! My school's co-ed, but other than that, just another fancy shmancy small liberal arts college.

It's finals week at my school, and everyone's been feeling super stressed, isolated, etc. Somebody just started a facebook page where people can submit anonymous compliments (it goes through the person running the page, so it's moderated) about other people, and the kindness and love that has been pouring out is
