While I don't think you should dislike someone because you suspect they may have an eating disorder, it sounds like ohhidoggie doesn't like her because she promotes a disordered way of eating. The first part of her comment may have been a bit unclear, but that's what I got from it.

I actually liked it, even though I know I'm not "supposed" to. I thought it was clever, informative, and pretty tongue-in-cheek. Also, it didn't hurt that those guys *were* exceptionally hot...

That's really interesting, thank you. I hope some version of this law passes, especially for images that are specifically advertisements (fashion spreads/editorials would be more difficult to regulate because of Art). I'm glad to see that there are precedents for how photography can be regulated in other industries.

Oh, I completely agree! I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a law like this, only that the nitty gritty details of enforcement seem difficult. I guess I was thinking more about fashion spreads and editorials, which are often considered art rather than advertisement. However, altering the images of eyelashes when

What about this:

I understand the sentiment, but how do you enforce this? Is making a picture black and white considered changing it? What about upping the contrast? Making one color more vivid than the others? Is it ok to delete fly-away hairs, but not a zit?

This is by far my favorite picture you have ever posted. And I love them all.

I've never been able to find a link to Groupthink on my Mac (I use Safari) since the redesign. I just keep it bookmarked...

Honest question, and you may be a vegetarian for all I know:

If she's a good student and her family lost all their money, she may be able to get a good amount of aid from the schools themselves and the government by filling out FAFSA. (This is the form for aid, it determines the family's expected contribution and then through a mixture of school/government scholarships/loans,

What about tea? The introduction (and mass consumption) of it in England lengthened life spans by about 20 years, which is pretty cool. No more just drinking alcohol or poisoned water.

Thank you thank you thank you. You're the only person I've met who feels the same way.

I remember reading an investigation in the Washington Post about a year ago, and the actual cost per student is around 70-100k per year. Tuition is already heavily subsidized, plus many people don't actually pay all of that.

If you think the pictures are bad, the food tends to look worse in real life. In my elementary school (not too long ago) we would have hot dog bouncing contests, because they were gray with a fuzz of little hairs on them. Ew. The vegetables were all disgusting and gray, the fresh fruit always significantly

I think that the parents were on the thin half of normal, and the percentage on kids were those who qualified as actually thin. The kids were below the "normal" point. The study mentioned that they were doing this partly because parents worried about their kids being too thin. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

Can someone explain, or give me a link that explains, this whole story? The first I heard of her was when things had already been covered for a bit, so I've never been sure of what happened. What did happen? Why is it so clear she's innocent, yet also convicted?

Exactly! I don't want there to be yet ANOTHER arbitrary thing society wants me to worry about.

I have a friend who's going as Delirium. Are you her? I'm going as Fluttershy!

I can attest to this! Today marked a week of being sick. It was getting better yesterday, but now I'm getting worse again. Woohoo... Also, being sick makes it impossible for me to sleep. Ugh.

Wow. I can't say I had heard of toe cleavage before this thread. Does it bother you on other people? Now I'm worried that all these people have been glaring at my feet without me noticing...
