It’s sadly the paradigm of justice that values the “economy” over prosecuting fraud. Elon’s corporate universe is far too big to bring down for fear that treating Tesla like Enron will have too many knock on effects on the economy that can’t be predicted. Unfortunately that dynamic lets malfeasance become so

The Boring Company has accomplished its goals - stifling innovations in public transportation.

Hold up, it’s not “his” tunnel tech. The boring company bought an off the shelf tunneling machine. They also didn’t invent the idea of vacuum tube travel.

AI is slumping?... Tesla is a car company. Tesla has always been a car company.”

Looks like a lot of those are based on the split. Going 130 in an 85 isn’t as drastic as doing it in a 65. I’m assuming there are either a lot more 150+ tickets out there or people who did 150+ and got ticketed much lower. I don’t expect in depth research from this crop of writers.

Hey man, sometimes when you skydive, you flip a coin.  This time it came heads up.

This Roadster is not at all based on the Lotus Elise. The original Roadster was Lotus-based, which was in production between 2008 and 2012. About 2,450 of them were sold.

The Second Gen Roadster was unveiled in 2017, and was supposed to launch in 2020.

people were asked to wire transfer $50,000 to secure their place in line for the car, or pay the full $250,000 for one of the one-thousand “Founders Edition” models...

What’s also true (and it a bit funny) is that they had a program that gave someone who made a successful referral of their Model S, a 2% discount toward the Roadster. And, they didn’t cap the number of referrals. It was reported that 80 people qualified for free roadsters, and I’m assuming many others qualified for

Nonsense. It’s not that something can’t be a butt plug, it’s just not a good butt plug.

$69?

Paige, you’ve already been told!

Even if it’s not the intended purpose, the point is moot because anything can be a butt-plug if you’re brave enough.

Gasoline hybrid would be choice. Make it the 1.2-liter from the i10.

I only hope they make it pure electric or gasoline hybrid - as promising as hydrogen is, I’d like to be able to fill these up in states that aren’t California.

Why would she stay in Scientology?  They failed at the one thing they generally offer celebrity families here, protection from consequences.

Yeah, like, if the whole story had been about the woman he doxxed as racist for not going to prom with him, that would sort of make sense (even if that’s just one data point). To have that just be an offhand anecdote in a story that’s otherwise “Comedian tells unfactual jokes: problematic?” seems weird.

I still dont care. He can make up whatever bullshit story he wants for whatever reason. Whether he is a comic or “clapter comic” whatever that is. His entire audience and the public large already agree that its fine, no one is bothered by it. Lie, embellish, whatever, so long as he entertains.

The doxxing is the only

I think your second paragraph is the real problem. I don’t care if he embellishes stories in his comedy, or even if he just straight up lies to help a bit. If the stories are presented as true-ish and implicate real people, I think there’s a different standard. It does seem a little weird that this is coming to a head

I understand the impulse to just brush this off because “oh, well all comedians embellish for comic effect”. That was my gut reaction too. But this is a little more than that. For starters, Minhaj is one of those comedians who doesn’t even really tell jokes. He’s a clapter comic who goes up on stage to make points for
