Every reason you’ve given to not buy the car could also be said for literally every other hot hatch on the market today.
You skipped the later half of that second quote which is kind of important here.
It was maybe two miles, though there was no real load on it. I was moving from a dorm to an off-campus apartment and was able to pack all my stuff in to my Crown Vic other than the chair. Rather than take a second trip just for it, I grabbed the armrest out my window and just drove over there. One of the wheels…
I can say from experience that a generic Staples office chair will happily do 50 MPH on a city street. Feel free to extrapolate from that whatever you wish.
Well like I said, I was 16, it was what was available to me. I only did 100+ in that truck a few times, the first time so that I could say that I had done it and the next few mostly to prove to disbelieving friends that the truck could do it.
Mine was an ‘03 SuperCrew with the 5.4, and yea knowing what I know now that was sketchy as hell. At the time I was 16, and the first time was literally the first time I was allowed to drive on my own. Since then I’ve learned what a vehicle that’s actually designed to go fast feels like at speed and know how that…
Having spent plenty of time behind the wheel of F-Series trucks I also doubt his claims that it’s governed to 95 MPH. I haven’t driven any F-150s of that generation, but my first time over 100 MPH was in the previous generation. I never actually found the limiter in that truck, but it was certainly north of 105, and…
Agreed. I haven’t spent much time under mine (dealer is close and service is cheap, so I figure why give them any chance to complain if I need warranty service) but comparing the two vehicles it looks like we’d have to sacrifice the spare tire and probably at least modify if not relocate what I believe to be the fuel…
This is a FWD EcoSport rear suspension:
Where do you have a junkyard with many totaled FiSTs?
See I was thinking the opposite, these things have optional AWD so depending on how similar the rear subframes are it might allow for a Fiesta ST to be converted to AWD. I believe a manual is offered with AWD in some countries, so the transmission with the power takeoff would be available as well.
I’ve thought a lot about chase vehicles and as far as I see it there are two main directions to go. If you want to get really close where there’s a reasonable chance you might end up in it, the tornado tank (as demonstrated by TIV and Dominator) is the way to go.
I agree on all but two points:
Yeah, that’s the most confusing part. The Twin I-Beam suspension used on the 2WD models of this era is as far as I’m aware one of the best factory suspension systems for prerunner purposes because of the absurd amount of travel that can be achieved without significant modifications. The Twin Traction Beam 4x4s are…
Yeah that’s definitely just your thing, and is possibly a legitimate psychological issue if you even avoid touching soil. That’s far from normal and definitely not justified from any rational perspective.
You are definitely wrong, getting muddy with off-road vehicles is a ton of fun. My family used to have a fair bit of property with a pond and some quads.
Drop an old luxury car body on a big truck frame and this would be an awesome gag.
So wait, it’s $2m per year for naming rights on this stadium and the team has no say in the logo?
What is with the video players on the Kinja sites these days? For the last week or two I haven’t been able to play anything that uses the “JW Player”.
