@Grimlock no bozo!: Agreed - the new format is the bees knees. But they seem to be testing the waters. Don't be surprised if they throw in a couple more trial balloons - some of which will suck.

@xaronax: Thanks for the offer to share! What's your girlfriend's IP address?
@Maverick128: That's excellent news! Thanks for sharing. When I was shopping for TVs in April, I bypassed DLP for this reason.
@RaginDude: Paper money is just ink and paper, too.
@Geisrud: It's impressive to see how much that pattern repeats itself.
@Vidikron: "Specifcially, take a look at this section from the review of a PN series as mentioned by the OP"
@universalcode: Color TV is vastly overrated. I'm not sure why we needed "talkies" anyway!
@d-range: Any TV capable of 3D will deliver great performance in 2D.
@Maverick128: Better reconsider that! Before 2010, the "3D Ready" TVs used a video input format pushed by TI "checkerboard". The standard used in 2010 and later is different.
@commander_k: I love my Samsung PN50C8000! My girlfriend liked it so much that she bought the same model!
@The Lab: Some of us care very much. But I agree that those who dislike a subject should be able to avoid it.
@GuessWho722: Then you probably shouldn't buy one. Just a suggestion.
@2010-Camaro: I own a 50-inch C8000 plasma (PN50C8000) and it kicks ass in 3D. I recently discovered that a coworker has the same model. He loves it, especially for gaming on his PS3. My girlfriend was so impressed by my Samsung that she bought the same model. We installed it last weekend, and she loves it!
@i ♥ Tofu: What makes you assume that panels 1 and 2 are screen shots from the same distance. Perhaps the cartoonist just decided to draw 3 a bit closer so you could read the text!
@J Dub: Not just Samsung; Mitsubishi and others, too. DLP technology was pushed by Texas Instruments as being 3D capable using a "checkerboard" video format. But the standard that emerged was different.
@visualplastik: That's red/blue "anaglyph" 3D. It works, but the modern active shutter glasses version works a lot better!
@theCR4NE: Coworker is a heavy gamer and loves 3D on his PS3. TV is a Panasonic 50-inch plasma.
@xSix: Yeah, the exclusive deals suck.
So what percentage of the general population buys a new TV of any kind in a given year?
@tyrizzle: High snark factor. Tell me again why your parents bothered to give birth to you? Was it all a plan to get free technical support or did they hope to love you?
