@Ryan: I find cordless tools empowering for household use. There are numerous tasks, far from an outlet, where I decide to use a hand tool rather than run a cord. Sometimes the task gets delayed or just doesn't get done.

@Sidetalker: As I understand it, the telomeres act as a kind of quality-control by suicide mechanism. The more times a cell reproduces, the shorter telomeres get and the more errors that are likely to accumulate elsewhere in the DNA.
