@Charliehorse: Doesn't hold an edge as well, I guess.

@MrGrinch: Traditionally, Batman doesn't use guns, but The Phantom loves him a matches set of 1911's. I can totally see The Phantom with a couple of those!

@zackm: I think we're both right.

@tomsomething: Notice the care with which the reenactor lovingly reproduced authentic period Betty Boop printed cloth for his outfit! Not many people would have understood the historical importance of matching the sleeves with the color of the plume in his Morion helmet.

@zackm: The photo does show an iPhone, but that doesn't mean much.

@tomsomething: Well, you never asked. For future reference, reenactment events are a rich source of meticulously researched historical data, like the Spanish soldier whom I photographed at the Southern CA Renaissance Pleasure Faire.

@Sprzout: Bends, no - the signal is digital, quantized by the frets. Small changes under the quantization steps can't be detected.

@Crowbot: In both "Mutant 59: The Plastic-Eaters" (by Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis) and "Andromeda Strain", organisms evolve to consume plastics. Considering how much of our civilization uses plastics, it's not a good scenario.

@dkissam: I reread the article, and you are right. In the previous paragraph, it said "Anne told me how offended she was when her current boyfriend defriended her after they had broken up (and before they got back together)."

@Crunch: You are right that the availability of content will make or break 3D TV, but it's a chicken-and-egg problem. Nobody will make content if they don't see a chance of a market.

Anne contradicts herself several times.

@toffa813: And it is too late. Kodak recently discontinued Kodachrome. You might find some processed slides somewhere, but you can't buy the film anymore.

So the guy took theft and compounded it with evil - and didn't even get that part right.

@tomsomething: I agree that the perp probably didn't intend to destroy the victim's hand.

@daggotht: The perp isn't necessarily a fanboy or iPad lover. He's probably a low-grade thug out to make a quick buck by grabbing expensive/portable stuff.

@The Lab: (Please take it easy on me. I don't have your background. But I would like to kick this around some more and learn from it. Keeping it on the level of my rusty old high school biology...)

@SerenityNow: I dated a woman who had a fairly thorough screening list, ranging from the obvious "Do you smoke?" to the more subtle "Are you musical?"

@Thalantas: Actually, I do happen to have a 3D TV, but skipping that...

@Zelex: "You can't print a 3D photo."
