No, that's not actually my job, but the way I see it, if I do it while I'm on the clock, I'm getting paid to do it.

Does the Blood Simple blu-ray have the commentary track by a fake film scholar? Because that was literally the first commentary I ever listened to. Not realizing it was fake, it made me very confused about what the point of commentary tracks was.
Having a job will most likely increase my AVC time because now I'll be getting paid to screw around on the internet. I don't give this shit away for free!
Interesting. I don't remember the movie well enough to be very specific, but I thought the ending was kind of phony in its attempt to bring things full circle. And the coda with the book dedication verged on corny.
I've done a couple summer internships in DC, so I know the city. While I don't care for the weather, it's not that much different than St. Louis's, so I'm used to it.
As someone who has driven I-70 the width of Kansas, I am happy to indulge the fantasy that there is anything - anything - to break up the flat monotony of that state's scenery.

I've been listening to it for weeks, but now I can blare it out of some real speakers while following along with the footnotes in the lyric booklet.
You should probably sue Gary X for defamation for naming that Nice Commenter award after you.
How did you like The Lives of Others. I remember liking it a lot up until the end. I also remember an article around the time it came out that called it the best directorial debut since Citizen Kane, which I thought was pretty insane.
By the way, if anyone in the DC area is looking to get rid of some furniture and/or gain a drinking buddy (who drinks just a liiittle too much), please let me know!
I'm happy to see 56 Up featured so prominently. Definitely one of the things I'm most anticipating in 2013. I hope Neil's still doing okay!

BIG NEWS: I got a job, and I will be moving to Washington D.C. within the next few weeks. I'm pretty excited about this. The job is reasonably interesting and adequately compensated. I feel like I've put my life on hold for the past few years because of law school, and I'm anxious to start living for real.
Which reminds me, I still have London After Midnight (the TCM reconstruction) awaiting me on my DVR.

I will most definitely check it out. You can't go wrong watching Lon Chaney perform bizarre routines, as I recently learned from The Unknown.

I love Woody, but his attempts at straight-up Bergman chamber drama are nearly unwatchable. September may be the worst movie he ever made (with the possible exception of Scoop).
