How awesome. She looked lovely and represented courageous-womanhood well; especially as an AA woman (since we don’t usually participate in such events). ALL women are fighting the same battles so hopefully empowering events like this one will become more inclusive.

Indeed they did. That was a powerful sight. I bet the administrators who THOUGHT they’d prevented the kids from partaking in the walkout were salty as hell. LOL...cuz the kids adhered to the rule of not walking out. But dammit they made a statement anyway.

I’m proud of him. Having courage and the willingness to stand alone means that he will be a strong-willed man of integrity...well he already is. A young lady here in New Jersey was the only person to walk out of her school too: and the 2nd grader that stood alone was both adorable and inspirational. I hope these kids’

Whoa...maybe that’s why his career took a nosedive shortly after this movie was released.

Wow. Ya know...that doesn’t surprise me. William Hurt always struck me as a good actor, but also a creepy mofo.

Reading this alarmed me and pissed me off. But then I chilled out: because lies about our history are nothing new. This is why parents—black parents especially, need to inquire about what their kids are being told so they can counteract the bs with the truth.

I vaguely remember the movie from my childhood. I snuck and watched it on mom’s old-school VCR: I was too young to understand all the complexities of it but I did understand that it was a love story between a deaf woman and a man. I look forrward to a modern twist on the story, a more diverse perspective on Broadway.

I always get the warm-n-fuzzies when ppl who commit crimes, especially those who do it in bs blackface, via crude makeup or AA silicone masks (like a white bank robber did a few years ago) get caught. I also feel the same full-belly-joy when whypipo who blame imaginary black men or other minorities are busted for

Nothing but noise. Meshell has her opinion, I have mine and you have yours. However it is a FACT that her music and ‘touring’ schedule is nowhere-near as impressive, financially or logistically, as Bruno Mars’. She’s not just not on my radar; she’s nonexistent to a great many people. There is no comparison between

When I say rural, I’m referring to mindset as well as landscape. Obviously it applies because this kind of dumb sh-- is still happening in 2018.

No surprise there. I keep trying to tell y’all, black folk, stay out of rural PA!! I grew up in Philly and know for a fact that the further out of the city you go, the more strange and racist Pennsylvania gets. If it’s not the Amish or Mennonites it’s the racists. I’m talking Aryan Brotherhood, Skinhead and Nationlist

I find Meshell’s comments to be hella petty & jealous. Look: Bruno Mars has admitted to admiring and intentionally sounding like lots of artists that pre-date him. But as a true-blue-music addict, a fan of various genres and artists, as a 40-something with musical tastes that go back to the 50's, I truly do not

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I totally agree & I find it bizarre. If she was my mother I’d clap-back too (though because I really AM black and have BLACK parents, clapping back in my youth would’ve resulted to physical claps/smacks on my person so I never did it). But since this chick is not black, she’s desperately unwilling to be white, and

Exactly

It’s the NFL; not training for terrorism in the Middle East. Wth...I probably would’ve walked out. That would be best cuz my mouth and my temper would go 0-to-100 REAL quick.

I don’t understand such in-depth criticism of ANYONE, anyway—unless they are pedophiles, rapists, or the sitting president (and not just Trump but any leader whose actions affect our very lives). I mean seriously. I happen to like Tiffany and want her to win: though she is a bit much. When I’ve reached my limit I turn

Lordt he is good-n-crazy. And he looks completely musty and unlike his polished, tux-laden appearance on Sunday. Wth...

I agree

Ok...but what are you talking about? I already stated that I’m glad his mother turned him in. You got off track a bit there.
