Who else misses the old The Root?

....if associates of the people being stopped arrive on scene and create complications.
Impeccable Brands, stated the “label was made in error.”
I thought the serious vetting comes AFTER the pitch, at least that’s the case with Canada’s “Dragon’s Den,” the show that the Shark Tank copied. There were a few pitches that “won” on TV but didn’t pass the vetting.
I think the notoriety, the mugshots, the pics of being led away in handcuffs or even of being shot by police sometimes is part of the far gone, illogical appeal to them. But the visuals won’t be so appealing if they include a couple of black eyes, a busted nose, and maybe a feeding tube.
I hope they show the shooter’s face and the injuries he sustained. Showing the results of being severely beaten up at a gay bar might put a damper on future mass shooter fantasies.
I don’t quite agree with you here, touching other people’s property is fine if it directly impacts you, but this is not the case here.
Yeah, I’m torn. “Fuck the guy with the obscured plate,” vs “mind your own business.”
It’s so disappointing, so many people whose work I used to like or agree with at least partially are now such twits. Maher used to be OK, Laura Logan and Glen Greenwald did some useful journalism, Roger Waters’s position on Palestine is solid, but now all of them...
The details in the article make you realize the story is even worse than the headline implies. She was IN HER OWN FRONT YARD (and maybe on the sidewalk in front of her house too), and she’s part of the only black family on the street. So this guy not only likely knew who she was, or at least could have easily deduced…
No appreciation for classic culture I tell ya.
The players were against this and the fans were disappointed too. This is ENTIRELY on Bruins management. It’s not like they were desperate either, they’re first in the league right now and playing well. They either screwed this up to a mind-bogglingly clownish degree by not researching the player at all, or they did…
He’ll be able to find almost any type of anonymous job out there, he just won’t play for the best hockey league in the world. Second chances exist, but:
I want my elephant!
What’s the rush? I hope dirigibles come back before supersonic jetliners. I don’t need pay three or four times the ticket price to shave a few hours off my trip, but I’d gladly pay that for a luxurious, days-long float from one end of the continent to the next.
I don’t know, I see a bit of the next representative for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district in her.
She was so good when she started her career it was hard to believe her dad when he said that her younger sister might be even better.
The article omits some really interesting facts around Mather and Onesimus, particularly how Benjamin Franklin was one of the anti-vaxxers in their town until one of his sons died from the epidemic. As is often the case with these lesser-known bits of black history in America, Michael Harriot explains it best:
What is that on top of the engine that looks like a muffler?
“New?”
