I think more than a unified message is needed here, specific and achievable goals would be better. “End racism” or “justice” is what everyone wants but it’s so big and vague.

I like Steve Nash, he’s from my area of Canada, he seems to be a very nice and positive guy and the best Canadian basketball player ever. I also totally see and understand the main argument in the article above. But the whole “star players hire their coaches” wrinkle is an interesting third view on this.

Both your possibilities are fringe, unlikely cases. It is much more likely that his parents are either the source of his views or are extremely negligent.

Yeah, it’s awesome. Hey, you get to dunk, we get to swim; you get to look cool with minimal effort, we get to yell at the police; it all evens out, right? Right? Right?

That’s only true up to a certain point. Media, school, peers can give a kid opinions that parents don’t agree with, and maybe if the kid is quiet or doesn’t believe in those opinions too strongly he will never say them and his parents won’t find out. I laughed at this:

Some more details: Strickland was arrested for and plead guilty to insurance fraud in 1994. Also, there’s another angle of the incident from high up in the stands that shows Strickland’s two shoves were much stronger than Ujiri’s retaliation, which in no way could have resulted in “permanent disability.”

You wrote that like this is something recent. It’s at least a hundred years old:

Judging by her next sentence, I thought she was talking specifically about big-cat ownership?

Damn, it’s been six years already? Maybe it’s because the current protests are about the same thing as the ones started by Brown’s death, but it feels so much more recent...

Right? Crack pipes aren’t living beings, they don’t have a race, nor do they have the ability to get offended.

Jones was so exciting and destructive at middleweight. He could have been just as interesting at super-middleweight too, but he didn’t stay there long and instead he moved up to light-heavy where he was too small to destroy his opponents. Instead he relied on a flashy but safe and defensive style over good but not

Hey, I heard “nobody could have foreseen this” coming from your country almost exactly 19 years ago too...

The last year or so, he’s really gotten into conspiracy theories and is a QAnon member, he doesn’t believe the world is a sphere, and thinks Bill Gates is out to track him with the virus.

And now the trolls are goebbelsing up his excuses, anne frankly I find it inführeriating.

I was sitting in a chair and my daughter asked me to show her how tall a pony is.

This man threw us under a bus that wasn’t even driving down our street.

See, I thought I knew what he meant too but it’s different from what you wrote and what you wrote makes sense as well.

“crack pipe” is a piece of drug paraphernalia, not some racist slur
