I think historians widely agree that there was a Jesus; a Jewish rebel who was opposed to the Roman occupation and the collaborating Jewish elite. He sounds a lot more interesting and relatable than the mythical/biblical Jesus that’s based on second or third person accounts written decades after his death.

Before I read his name I saw the picture and thought “No! Freddie Roach, I thought you were cool.”

Hmm, I think we are both half-right half-wrong here. I re-read the article and now understood that a pro-police mural would not replace the BLM one, but that the BLM one would be painted over (that part is in the first paragraph), I assume with just plain coats of paint.

Man, that’s a beautiful mural. I’d love to see it in my community on artistic merit alone. The B, the K, and the second A are particularly cool.

Good effort guys, but you need a shorter, more acronymable title. Like maybe “Why Your Team Isn’t Winning This Year” or WYTIWTY.

Yeah, it’s Kinja’s fault.

No, destruction “if” property is not good, but the police’s reaction should be proportional to the crime.

It’s usually parked near the southwest corner of 13th and Lonsdale in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. It’s a black Ford Focus hatchback with minor damage on the front-right bumper corner.

And in this case all the “troublemaker” did was allegedly damage some police property (cameras).

Shouldn’t “vote” be an entry all on its own? Minorities, by definition, can’t vote out racist politicians, judges, sheriffs, DAs, etc, themselves. It feels like the very bare minimum but still very important thing to do.

Stetson Kennedy, who died about a decade ago, was the first one to unmask how silly the KKK and similar organizationscan be with their secret handshakes, code words, rituals, grand wizard dragons, etc. Like LARP’ing with real consequences.

“Aryan Cowboy Brotherhood” lol. Sounds like my friend’s 6-year-old’s “Super Club for Cool Dudes” with its own club-house (backyard tool shed) and everything.

I was on vacation last week (up here in Canada) and I saw an incident at a gas station. A bunch of police were there, and as I arrived at a pump on the other side a rough looking guy quickly walked into his car, shut the door, and looked like maybe he wanted to get away, possibly through the police cars a little bit

They seem like decent people

What is the seaplane that Canada is building now? I searched Google but could only find news about an old DeHavilland Beaver retrofitted with an electric engine. That’s kind of cool too, but not in the same class as this Chinese plane.

That makes sense.

Yes, there isn’t much data. What I’ve been reading is that with the little data that there is available, it appears that maybe kids are more resistant to it. There definitely is no agreement that reopening schools would be safe.

That’s clearly a red truck with immaculate clear-coat reflecting the beautiful clouds above it, your honour.

It’s the teachers and parents I’d be more concerned about. Kids seem to be resisting the virus better than young adults even.

Slavery was not integral to anything that “made America great,” to borrow a phrase, except line the pockets of the 1% and maintain white supremacy.
