I'm just not understanding how he was so opposed to brewing an IPA because he didn't like that style of beer, but he makes the Twisted Tea and Angry Orchard brands and just doens't put the BBC name on them because he doesn't like those styles either.

Because it's easier to find a lager session beer. Sometimes when it's hot and you're drinking all day, it's easier to drink a lighter lager all day than a porter, ipa or epa.

Wrong side of the commonwealth. Eastern PA is Yuengling country, western PA drinks IC Lite, which is just fermented steel mill runoff.

Yuengling's Black and Tan, however... Beer Advocate calls it "Style: Black & Tan," but I think it should be "Style: It is super easy to drink 6 of these quickly."
