Let the system deal with them. At the end of the day this is Karen-esque and it’s very dangerous for him. People manipulating their plates might be up to something far more nefarious than just dodging fines. I wouldn’t cross these kinds of people just because you think the municipal budget could use a few more

They had largely overcome their old reputation, but then the whole easy to steal thing happened, and their reputation is probably shot again.

Is the speed limit 20 or 70?  11 over makes a big difference in the former.

If a driver is not getting registrations and doing basic fixes...what makes you think they will get inspections?

Cops have the tech and computers that will tell them the status of a license plate and registration. There’s no real reason to get a sticker anymore.

This article, which was written on the heels of an article from the Atlantic, seems to be written with a false premise- that somehow US automakers are ONLY making huge, behemoth EVs. That is so far from the truth its ridiculous that an automotive journalist versus me wouldn’t at least do the slightest amount of

Ahh, yes, the commenter knowing more than the actual, literal expert testers tasked with certifying whether the car is safe or not.

Winter tires are smart, but if you can stay home the days it’s actively dumping snow (and why wouldn’t you? going out in a blizzard isn’t fun and I love winter sports!), there’s really no reason

Denver has milder winters than almost anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon, except the Pacific Coast.

This is a notorious spot - raised highway is prone to freezing, and it’s right on the edge of the Denver/Jefferson county line. For Eastbound drivers it can be a rude introduction to the quality of Denver county public works’ snow clearing...

Denver airport, around this time of year, about to drive up into Wyoming and I asked the rental desk for a car with winter tires. “We don’t do that.”

Drivers headed out on their morning commutes, likely unaware and unprepared for the conditions.

I find I can maintain a constant speed better than cruise control in the hills. Oh, there’s a hill coming up, feed gas now and add a couple mph before hitting the hill so I don’t drop down to 55 in a 65 before having the transmission kickdown.
