No; momentum and kinetic energy are different quantities. Momentum is mass times velocity; kinetic energy is one half mass times the square of velocity.
But not relevant. T-boning a trailer in this manner is going to be fatal far less than 65mph... there was no survivability possible.
OK, I assumed you were referring to SF as that’s what the discussion was about. Prop 13 was drafted to prevent that type of situation, property owners on fixed incomes being ‘forced out’ due to massive property taxes increases. There’s nothing forcing existing property owners to leave, other than desire to cash out.
Property tax does not work that way in CA! Prop 13, put in place nearly 40 years ago, prevents that type of “fucked over”. Unless sold or improved, the tax basis does not follow current valuation:
Finally another Gen X’er!
Learn the art of brevity; you don’t have to write a book with every response! Your initial comment was ignorant of the facts, and had a very xenophobic tone; if that’s not your character I apologize for inferring it.
Full torque from Zero RPM with AWD and computer controlled torque vectoring and launch cotnrol make the most of the traction available from street tires. Put the Hellcat on drag slicks (and a driver that knows how to launch it) and it’s a whole different story.
Um, no. The lessons you should have learned are when parked on an incline to always use your parking brake, turn the wheels, and to leave the transmission in the highest gear ratio, which is the LOWEST gear (first or reverse). Putting it in third or higher makes it MORE likely to creep, as a higher gear provides less…
I agree with you on 1 & 2. The production value and cinematography of the films has definitely stepped up. Despite all the prior negative hype, I actually enjoy the new show, but think it would be better without Evans. More Sabine and Harris, please!
It was your ignorant comment that caused me to respond the way I did. As, I said, I agree with much of what you say, but upsetting Muslims has nothing to so with TSA’s use of K9's.
“Do not, under any circumstances, buy any V12-powered automobile. Yes, I understand that you want to check out a V12 to see what it’s like. But that doesn’t mean you have to spend $30,000 on an aging, unreliable one.”
No I’m mad... just trying to make the point that heel-n-toe is NOT a technique exclusive to racing on the track. It’s safe and fun on the road, and really, IMHO the ‘proper’ way to drive a manual transmission in anything other than granny mode. But, yeah, some pedal set-ups are just not amenable to it.
I know! I heel and toe all the time. My question was more rhetorical and in response to RazoE’s comment: “I blip the throttle, but I don’t heal-toe.”
I never said brake hard or corner fast... I said take a corner “properly”. Just like you, I “blip when I downshift, and I brake before I corner”. Heel and toe simply allows you to do both at the same time, resulting in smoother corner entry. That’s an advantage on the track, and while not a required technique for…
What happens when you reach a corner? You need to brake. And if you want to properly take that corner, you’ll want to be in the right gear to accelerate out of it before you enter it. Hence the need to downshift while braking; hence the need for heel/toe technique.
