Records and PPI. I’ve had 3 of them; the first I drove to 370,000 miles. My SL500 is about to break 200,000. The E430 is the baby at 102,000.

The ultimate sleeper. To make it complete, but “E350" badging on the rear.
Where do you gfet parts for a Vector these days? I remember all the hype from that car. Definately not an exotic sound. Looks dated today. A good exotic, like the Miura, looks great 50 years later.
I have had 3 Mercedes from the 80s-2000, and when you get some weird electrical issues - ABS light comes on, BAS, EPS - many times it is just a worn $15 brake light switch. Had this happen 3 times now.
So many cars are a shade of silver, white, or black.
When they say “remastered” I am thinking of the effort Singer goes to in redesigning the air-cooled Porsche. An engine designed by Cosworth with massive amts of hp over the stock motor.
If you want help putting out your car fire don’t tell your benefactor that he is an asshole and to shut the fuck up.
They look like money pits to me
It’s going to be crazy for a year or so with dealer markups. But it seems like a fantastic car in any price range bute for under 60K? Of course I think everyone will be ordering the Z51 package.
Years ago I got a ride in a Ferrari 330GTC and other than the beautiful noise that V12 made, was unimpressed. Rode more like an old pickup truck.
I thought they needed something more than 110v. In any event I have heard some funny stories of EV owners all vying for the same public plug. Which is another complaint of mine. Why should municipal taxpayers pay for some doofus to charge his car?
That house owner to me seems to go beyond “nice” to “wimpish”. It was…
I remember when the first Miata came out. It was crazy for a year or so. Same with the 240Z.
To me that markup is stupid but the real test will be to see if someone wants to buy that instead of a Ferrari.
Don’t forget if Collins hadn’t done his job the other 2 would have been stranded in moon orbit.
What I love about Cooter and Scooter is that the guy doing the filming probably told him DON’T DO THIS! - Scooter goes ahead and Cooter has to film it for YouTube. Scooter is going to get on one way or another.
Why do they even use prop rods other than they are cheaper than springs? I have 2 older Mercedes - the oldest (1996) is spring loaded and has a feature I have never seen on another make. Push in a lever when the hood is up, and you can push it further up to 90 degrees - to full vertical.
You don’t have to stoop under…
Man - someone hit that car with an ugly stuck.
Something Bob Lutz said in a recent Road & Track column stayed with me: When he was at BMW they were a minimum of bureaucracy - and not surprising my favorite BMWs - 2002, 3.0 CSL... The current cars are not what interests me.
Don’t factory rebates to the dealer have an expiration date though? Of course those would apply to all dealers.
Still walking away is the most powerful tool the customer has.
A lot of these DIY projects I have to admire - for the engineering and original thought. But some you have to ask....why? To me puttinkg a lawnmower enginke into a jeep is one big step backwards. But hey, Walter didn’t ask me.
And that’s OK.
Reading this, it almost sounds like foul play. Then too the river is snow fed - very cold - and fast from all the snow we got.
With few exceptions, if you start ignoring major repairs pretty soon you think little of the car and it turns to a mess that is too expensive to fix.
What I have recently ignored - reluctantly...
I have a 1996 Mercedes SL500. These when new were complicated technological wonders. Full of vacuum systems for security…
