For some reason I’ve had this recurring fantasy of driving a 917 on our freeway. Letting the engine wind out of course.

I read something about Lincoln some months ago that stayed with me. The reason that people really don’t think of them is a luxury car anymore is because they all know that they’re just rebadged Ford.

You would be incorrect ;-) The Lincoln had hardly a scratch; the Honda front end completely crushed

Well if you found an 86 MR 2 in decent condition you found a keeper. Those in itself are getting so rare that at least mine gets looks. You are right though about semi classic cars being so prevalent there. I was down there last year having dinner in Studio City.

I sat through a third of that and there’s nothing that he has mentioned that seems out of the ordinary.

1. Original Ford GT 40

Yeah how did they obtain nude photos. Was she dumb enough to have them on the Internet?

By the way I believe left unsaid was the fact that in East Germany was the fact that an East German would wait about 10 years to get one of these things.

In 1992 I went to Berlin and rented a car and drove to Dresden. Then Dresden to Frankfurt

If it has been a car made for the US market with the emission controls they would have lived but been vegetables.

Well look at The reason we are getting tiny engines with turbo chargers. It’s all for the EPA regs and passing their fuel economy tests.

I rode in a friends GT 40 replica. It was a pretty good replica made in South Africa. Just to open up that clamshell back and look at that man what a thing of beauty. And it sounded pretty good to0.

A lot of times you can see the production process by how hard the part is to remove. The harder it is, generally the sooner in the production process it was installed on the assembly line. I can remember spending literally hours trying to remove the last bolt on a clutch slave cylinder on a W201 (190E) Mercedes.

But I

You have to know how much you started with to know “how much is left”. Unless you can see that there is so little pad as to almost hit the metal rotor/disk.

The Brake pads - if you are that much a neophyte - will tell you nothing unless they are almost to the metal - you have to know how thick they were when they were new :-)

But a good basic - very basic - advice.

My mother is surprised when we fill up the car that i check the oil. She says I am the only person she has

What’s even stranger is that the woman does not even acknowledge the good Samaritan. Just tootles on like nothing happened. Sounds like it was in Australia

In onew of these ads the seller states: “Seems as IMS was replaced”

Seems?

Generally people who buy a diesel are loyal to diesels. Of course there are few choices - unless you want to think outside the box and get a massive Ford F350 or Dodge with cummins.

An Internet friend from the UK posted a picture of someone who had a Shelby GT500 over there - the last generation. 700 hp or so, fuel that is $8 - I’d say he really wanted that car and was willing deal with the weaknesses you described driving one over there.
