Maybe it is just a law of the automotive Gods that the car made in the home country is more powerful than the export. And I don’t think there is anything wrong with the Mustang; just a few idiots who drive them.

To my knowledge the only engines Daimler has used balance shafts are 2 V6 engines, the M112 and its successor the M272. The reason they used a balance shaft was because it was for production efficiency a 90 degree V6 - essentially a V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off. The ideal “V” in a V6 is 60 degrees; having 90 degrees

Not all supercars depreciate. Just look at the F1. Or some Ferraris. Was it here, but I read something intriguing on this. The reason these are appreciating is that they are the last of the “driver’s” cars, without all the electronic minders.

Comparing the auto 1st gen to the 5 speed is like apples and oranges. The engine has so little low end torque that it would to me seem like comparing a golf cart to a go cart.

I have a first gen, and compare it to a 7/8 scale Lotus Esprit. A not entirely inaccurate description since it was rumored that Lotus helped in its development (Toyota owned a share at the time).

And Dan Gurney helped in the suspension.

Good advice. I have avoided a few accidents by just seeing what is happening 3-4 cars ahead of me. I also just started to read this book, by one of the Stigs in Top Gear. Just started but it seems to be pretty good. Good basic advice.

“(For what it’s worth, Mercedes-Benz will produce any part, for any car that has ever borne its mark—for a price.)“

Guaranteed for 1 block or 5 minutes, whichever comes first.

I have driven exactly 1 air cooled 911 in my life, years ago a 1972 Targa. To me the coupe has a lot nicer linkes - up though the 1989.

only thing a Prius could catch would be another Prius. Unless maybe it was a Smart Car. Assuming Brabus didn’t tune it.

I read that when they were filming in Manhattan the cops would smile and wave to Jerry as he really personified the real NYPD cops

Unless it has Porsche’s blessing it will be just another kit car. Like the difference between Shelby’s new Cobras and every other kit Cobra. And for the proposed price of building your own 911 this will be critical.

Well, there have been a lot of cool suggestions. For #370, I propose an R129 Mercedes-Benz SL. Made from 1990-2002, they underwent a lot of changes. I would opt for the V8 in either M119 form (1990-1998) or M113 (1999-2002).

Why am I laughing at this fool? I shouldn’t be laughing, should I?

I am sure that by the time he is done with it he could have gotten a restored or 80% car for far less.

I few years ago I read an interesting article by a WW2 navigator - and presented a means of navigation they used during that time - and he proposed what went wrong.

Then there are those who believe she was beheaded by the Japanese after some imprisonment.

Can you say.........”understeer”? :-)

TIGHAR has gone there numerous times and come back with a new story each time.

Easier said than done, but he did not do anything wrong. Even boxcutters were legal at the time. If you want to read an interesting book - haunting - read this. Apparently there was at least 1 other aircraft that had hijackers - ready to take off from Newark, but the pilot saw the burning Towers and his gut instinct
