Sounds fantastic, until the year is up - then it is on you!

An unlimited bumper to bumper warranty on an exotic car almost 10 years old?
No it is a 96 or newer - you can tell by the fender grills - 1990-1995 had 3 “slits” - post 95 had 2. In fact it is a 1996 - you can tell from the rear view mirror which had a funky alarm antenna on the bottom.
Well, if you read Benzworld.org you will find that many belong to younger people and most have learned the very extensive procedures to maintain them from the complicated ADS (pneumatic) suspension to working on that cramped V12 (where SOP to get to just about anything is to remove the intake manifold)
“It’s not an exaggeration to say VW has staked quite a bit of their U.S. reputation, brand identity and sales future on their so-called “Clean Diesel” engines. Now that we’re finding out they’re not so clean, it’s a massive blow to the company and its brand.”
Well, while working in the engine compartment of my Mr2, I found a watch that I had mysteriously lost 5-7 years ago. How it managed to stay in there and not drop out only it knows.
There will probably never be another car like the Gullwing. The doors had to be as they were because of the tubular frame. If it weren’t for the efforts of Max Hoffman, legendary importer of such marques as BMW, VW, Alfa, there would never have been a Gullwing for the street.
My 20 year old SL500 has the same 0-60 time. No doubt in my mind which car I’d rather be driving :-) But still amazing what they are doing with engines and electronics these days - even the little 4 cylinders with turbos
Why is he destroying a nice fairly new pickup? This is on the list as the dumbest thing on the Net for 2016 but the year is only a day old...
It should buff right out.
They do this on sport bikes too. Last time I was over there some guy in front of me pops a wheelie, stands up and I can imagine this moron going through my windshield.
When I first read that it surprised me. 6 second 0-60 times used to be supercar territory not V6 Camrys do it.
I can accept the fact that an enthusiast may buy a Camry because the circumstances in his life (family) dictate a boring but extremely reliable conveyance, but I can’t believe an enthusiast would buy a Camry because he wants to. What is their in a Camry’s attributes that generate enthusiasm, other than reliability?
I think - at least in CA - the nozzle for diesel is wider than will allow in a modern gas car? And yes here too the diesel nozzle is green.
Have a funny story from one of our car club members. In the early 70s, he was being discharged from the Coast Guard in Massachusetts, and wanted to get a different car to replace his bug when he moved to CA.
About like your buying a 1957 Edsel today - would people congratulate you on your good taste? ;-)
When testing the 912 Road & Track referred to it as a “sheep in wolf’s clothing” - but it came out when original 356 owners were complaining about the cost of the new 911.
Bub Lutz had a great answer in his R & T column as to why the GTO did not sell. A lot of it was GM’s fault - dealers on the west coast were screaming for them while Midwest dealers were overflowing with them. There was more to it but that is the basics.
Ironman, hands down. He is a tinkerer and inventor.
The Sauber Mercedes has an interesting history. Won something like 15 of its 17 races. The engine is based on my M119 4 valve V8 - naturally in race form it is over 2x my HP :-)
