This is a good article but I have a few things to add. RAID 10 (pronounced one zero) or 1+0 or 0+1 is a little more forgiving on the speed and quality of drive used.

I agree! I have a Nexus 7 and I can't make it fit into my life. For some reason a 10 inch tablet seems appealing but those cost much more. Makes me feel like I am taking a $400-$500 gamble.
I buy them second hand on Craig's List or swappa.com. I bought my GS3 for $300 brand new in the box on Craig's List. I have to admit, I was in the right place at the right time. Then I sell my old one on CL.
I don't think Samsung has an unfair advantage. They made the advantage for themselves. They combined a good marketing campaign with quality hardware and unique software features. Features like Smart Stay, Direct Call, and Share Shot are really handy and make a difference. To me at least.
This works well for people that do not know how to read a Doppler radar.
I don't think it will be that hard for the people supplying the codes to operate outside of the US. All they have to do is email an 8 digit code. Is each carrier going to come after their own potential customers?
I'm using a Galaxy S3. I have to admit, I LOVE the hardware and the special features Samsung has added to Android (Smart Stay, Direct Call, Share Shot, S Beam). I use Apex for a launcher, I'm not a fan of TouchWiz.
I bought a GS3 on Craig's List for $300, brand new still in the box. I got really lucky. But I did this to stay off contract too. I'm really hoping Page Plus Cellular gets 4G access soon.
The big appeal for me was that you didn't need an online account and all your actions didn't have to go through a third party. I understand they needed to make it easy to use, I just wish all the data didn't have to go through them.
I have been using Twonky and really like it.
Thanks for the bluetooth tether tip, that will work much better than wifi tether on my phone.
Perhaps I'm changing a setting incorrectly, my Nexus 7 never seems to go into sleep mode. My first one was replaced because of screen issues and both of them never seem to go into sleep mode. I need to do some research on that.
Congrats, welcome to the world of controlling you tv, not the other way around. Configure an XBox 360 as an extender and you can watch live tv, recorded tv, and any movies on your HTPC library. Wireless doesn't work so well, I recommend ethernet between the HTPC and XBox 360.
Could this be another case of those Flip video recorders? There wasn't anything especially great about the Flip video cameras but they sold like hot cakes. They were "good enough" http://gizmodo.com/5229951/the-new-mantra-of-tech-its-good-enough . Although I haven't seen a 4K or 8K display, 1080P is more than…
I have been thinking about doing this but have a few concerns.
I'm glad you specified UTC. I would hate for that to be off by a few hours.
Verizon isn't a cell phone company?
They sucker you in with unlimited. Then they redefine what unlimited really is. Then they stop offering unlimited.
LOL, I somehow forgot the world ending and found this especially funny today.
