So, what you are talking about is what Jesus taught in the Parable of the Sower, found in all three Synoptic Gospels. The seed, which represents the Gospel is sown into different types of soil. Most soils produce nothing as the seed either dies or springs up quickly without nourishment. But, the seed that falls on…
Kudos. I know exactly what you mean. I used to drink 100-120 ounces of diet soda a day. Every time I tried to stop, it was the headaches that made me start drinking it again. I knew that they’d eventually stop, but they stopped right away if I start drinking it again so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Yes yes yes. I know I’m an outlier here, but after I left home, I simply could not imagine drinking “soda pop, “soda,” or whatever we call it. To me, that stuff was always “kid’s beverages.” I drink water. I still don’t understand why people consume that stuff (sugar high? Caffeine?)
Diet Coke is spiked with phenylalanine in order to make it more addictive. The impact phenylalanine in combination with caffeine has on your brain is different and more addictive than caffeine alone.
Back in the early 90's I used to drink that much regular Coke a day. That is, until I went on a camping vacation and developed a caffeine withdrawal headache that ruined a week in the British Columbia Wilderness. I didn’t realize it until I got home and started drinking it again and the headache went away. That’s when…
I am a huge diet soda drinker but I literally cannot imagine drinking 12 cans of soda a day... Not that I don’t believe you. My SO’s roommate in college drank so much regular soda that he stopped peeing because he messed up his kidneys so bad. I wish I knew more about why/what happened but it’s lost to time.
Understanding full well that the plural of “anecdote” is not “data”, I’ll offer this: I was a 12-can-a-day Diet Coke addict until just after my 37th birthday, when I had a stroke.
