If you are going to do it by weight do it right. The tax should be based on the fourth power of the weight, because that is what road damage is proportional to.

I would feel a lot better about this if they made vehicle weight a factor as well. If we are going to get into the nitty gritty of taxing people based on how much they use the road, then it should account for the exponential increase in wear applied by heavier vehicles.

Me too!  I never say to myself anymore, “Stop reading; you have to get up tomorrow.”

I’m not retired, but I am unemployed, so my sleep cycle/circadian rhythm’s fully reverted to a non-24-hour day (basically, one of my “days” is between 26 and 28 hours long on average, so I drift out of phase by a couple of hours each day). Next week is just going to be one “day” that’s an hour longer than even that.

I’m also retired, and I feel the same way; sure plays havoc with doctors’ appointments though.

I’d rather stay on Daylight Time all year. I’m fine with an extra hour of darkness on winter mornings, since we get it back in the evening anyway. As long as we continue to get the extra hour on summer evenings.
