Last I checked, minimum wage jobs were what I worked back when I was supporting my way through college. I didn’t intend to remain in those jobs for a lifetime, or get a mortgage and healthcare doing those intro-Joe jobs.

“Wildly unpopular and regressive...”? You must be living in another universe. In our dimension, this is seen as a return of money back to us people who worked very hard to earn it in the first place.

I posted the link to this article at the university where I teach. I used it to demonstrate to my undergrad classes why APA encourages steering academic writers away from biased and editorial writing in the media. This has proven to be an excellent example.
