I reuse bottles too, the 2 reactions I see are either OMG nasty germs, which makes no sense because I wash between uses and usually have life span of 4-5 uses before I lose it. I think a gift card would be very appreciated, obviously it’s not the same as being there in person to cook, visit, etc. If your friend does have unexpected expenses which are common and often very costly with little reserve a gift card could be a huge help.
